No, my chance of survival or a guest dying if they saw a gun or I had pulled a gun was way too high. I had no idea where the female was when he pulled the gun on me, and could not know if she also had one. I had this whole conversation I had with someone who had told me after it happened if you had been carrying x,y,z would have never happened, and had typed it out but decided erase it.
So my follow up question - had you had a gun on you that night do you think you would have pulled it out?
How are you supposed to pull a gun on someone who has a gun pointed at you? Some of these people that carry guns for that scenario have watched way to many westerns. Sorry QuickDraw McGraw but you dead
Real men, the kind who carry guns for protection at all times, just know when the robber is a coward and doesn’t have the balls to pull the trigger. They have the upper hand in 97% of scenarios.
To be fair he means when the dude said he had a gun, or when he went to show the 45 in his belt to show he wasn't kidding would have been my only chance to beat him to the punch, but without knowing where the other potential threat was it wouldn't be worth the risk.
That’s when you should have grabbed the gun from his belt, immediately put the dude in a headlock from behind and then pointed the gun at the chick. Works every time.
Nah huge glass bowl that holds the mints knock that bitch out cold then make the chick submit, right?

Five weapons were seized from Hinebaugh – one pump-action rifle and four AR-15 style semi-automatic rifles, according to Hess. Hess said the police can “prove through our investigation” that Hinebaugh “had access and had control of at least two of those guns … at different times.” The AR-15s were allegedly “ghost guns,” meaning they were untraceable firearms not made by a manufacturer and without serial numbers. ... Hinebaugh also told police in an interview that Pringle was "obsessed" with guns and had previously made firearm parts while attending a local vocational school.
There was an active shooter at my previous apartment complex today - no idea how no one was hit as he was aiming at a vigil for Vincente Fernandez so there were a good amount of people in the crowd. https://www.cbs8.com/article/news/p...wood/509-7184250f-8c0f-4052-8c54-f1992e38dd29
We got alerts from the school where I work and my kids’ schools. My middle school son had a 2.5 hour lockdown because someone wrote a note saying “hi if your reading this then this is a warning to the school on Friday 17 say your prayers” and left it on a desk. that combined with the TikTok shit was enough. I’m working but my kids are staying home with my wife.
Got a recorded message from my kids district, but not so much as a peep from the adjacent district I work for.
School sent an email about this. Our school is just over a week removed from what was considered by police to be a "credible threat" by a student (8th grade - mine are both in HS) who had apparently been bullied pretty bad over time, and thankfully is now in custody and hopefully getting the help he needs. Needless to say, my kids did not have school one day last week, so the timing on this damned challenge is hitting a wound that is still a bit vulnerable.
Edit - weird double post. story from my school is that only half of the students are here. Most assume that it’s because this is the last day before break but a few are probably being safe.
Kids all over the world do dumb shit on Tik Tok. We are the only of those countries where kids have access to millions of fire arms
My kids are both staying home today. I work from home so why even risk some dumb ass kid getting inspired by some tiktok and showing up with a gun
Yeah, I’m calling bullshit. This is like when cops warned of people handing out $20 edibles as Halloween candy. Edit: I also completely understand kids staying home, given the culture we live in.
School should have been canceled today. No need to take a risk. If something happens that's super fucked up
I wanted to send my daughter today, wife wanted to keep her home. I lost. They are now having a girls day.
update from the ground: very little instruction happening today. probably should just call it. we did finally get an email from the district. they are aware of social media challenges but are prepared. stay vigilant.
That's another thing. It's the last day before holiday break for most schools. What would they really miss?
There's been a couple of these "TikTok challenges" this year that caught on nationwide at schools right? I remember the thing about messing up the bathroom
Somehow a prompt will go viral, like video yourself slapping a teacher or w/e. Maybe it was touching a teacher's ass
That bathroom one got messy at times. Pun absolutely intended. At my kids' school, it was mostly stuff like tearing soap dispensers off the wall.
I'd probably be more concerned if we hadn't had the "credible threat" just more than a week ago. The school and authorities are already on higher alert, kids are having more conversations and are sensitive to warning signs, and at least one student who might actually be a threat will be nowhere near the school today.
