Grand Canyon dance team is amazing. All the AZ schools are just loaded with So Cal girls who didn't get into their first-choice schools
Jesuit schools always have a priest as president. So we've got Father Paul sitting next to Bill Cartwright here lol
Sigh. Refs about tripled up the fouls on USF compared to GCU in the second half. Dons fall 49-48 for the first loss on the season Now get to cheer for another of my teams. Let's go NAU
Shame Kentucky wasn’t able to find a competitive team to fill in for Ohio State pulling out because of COVID
3-7 Detroit Mercy are 13-point favorites over CMU. Tony Barbee and company have really earned that 1-9 record
Boom baby Dons with a 66-65 W in Tempe. Nice way to respond after falling by a point as nothing went their way in an environment that was only neutral in a nominal sense. 11-1 ain't too shabby
UConn women out of the AP top 10 for the first time since March 2005. I was a senior in HS. Holy shit
Assuming the 2 Memphis players who tested positive leading to the game with UT being cancelled, which is the biggest regular season game on their schedule. Memphis at most has 6 of 17 players listed on their roster vaccinated. Given the break through cases we are seeing with omicron, I have a hard time figuring out how they’ll be able to reliably field a team. It takes 7 weeks to get vaccinated if the unvaccinated players got their shots yesterday. So if a player test positive again, the unvaccinated players will all be out due to contract tracing. Penny said 90% of his players were vaccinated in the preseason. Has anyone ever brought in the number 1 class in the country and missed the NCAA tournament?
Plus you can add 2013 Kentucky to that group (the Nerlens Noel, Willie Cauley-Stein class). Though they likely make it if Noel doesn't get injured late in that season.
Asked and answered. Well, damn. I guess I should follow basketball recruiting more. (I’ll absolutely not be doing this.)
I read that conferences are working on fixing these forfeit rules because times were different when they were made
There were two forfeitures in the big east last night too. Seton Hall and DePaul both forfeited their games.
dumbass AP voters who don't watch games are definitely gonna knock teams down assuming they lost a real game
There’s a margin of victory input in the NET formula that committee claims they are using, so I hope they just aren’t using those games.
The way the guidelines are right now, it doesn't impact the record that the tourney committee would be looking at. At the end of the day, the only impact would be with the records by the conference itself. So for Georgetown, they would be 0-1 in the Big East by the way the Big East looks at them, but the NCAA would see them at 0-0 in conference play.
DePaul's AD tweeted this today. We've had to forfeit 2 Big East games already, which is lame since we don't typically need any help losing Big East games.
