At least it seems like the players are still in. I'm hoping the win can get him to calm the fuck down during games and stop chasing everything to avoid going winless. Probably not happening, but that would be awful nice if it happened. His game management stuff wasn't that bad early in the year.
usually roll me eyes at most of the cliché "win one for Gipper" storylines but 100% believe the team used to the events of last week to play with some extra juice. i for sure believe in Campbell's ability to lead and harness that energy/emotion, guess i can wait and see if he can learn the nuances of being an HC. 1 win doesn't make any difference about the direction of this franchise and he should be evaluated on the merits of his performance, but felt like a special moment nevertheless
Dueling flu and Covid outbreaks. Williams and Walker out due to Covid protocols. But hey, Pickett is going to the Senior Bowl so at least our staff can view him up close.
I think we want Houston to beat Jacksonville today, since the Jags have the Jets next week. Houston has zero chance of picking up another win if they lose today. Of course, I don’t see us winning any games the rest of the season, so it probably doesn’t matter. Every bit helps though.
I'm not crazy worried about 1st pick anymore because I haven't been blown away when I've seen Kayvon and Aidian has impressed me a ton when I've watched. Don't think falling to 2 is catastrophic
Aidan wasn’t blowing anyone away last year either.. Kayvon is a year younger, and probably the better pro prospect. wouldnt be surprised if a QB climbs into #1 spot.
Wasn't he out basically the whole season injured last year? And as The Banks pointed out, Aidan was born August 2000 and Kayvon December 2000. Basically same age I mean given I've only watched 3 Oregon games, but I didn't even notice Kayvon in 2 of them and he had a couple good plays in third. He's not a guy who jumps out as a can't miss pick when I've watched
Think on Kayvon you’ve got to buy his versatility and ability to grow in the right defense. Aidan is a beast rushing off the edge and has shown he can help in the flats, but that’s it (and throwing to the flats isn’t the pro game like it is in college anyway).
We do some nice stuff in the run game, which has me leaning towards doing what it takes to get Corral or Willis. Even Howell is fine. Just don’t want any of those guys at 1. But putting a running QB in this offense could be fun.
Campbell is a moron. Just kick the fucking field goal you meathead, instead of adding 5 yards to the kick
Playing well but only up 3-0 in no small reason to running a 5 yard play on 3rd and 8, and attempting an onside kick with an illegal formation so the defensive stand doesn't even get us good field position.
Hindsight 20/20 but why would you not take points there. Lions O not exactly lighting the world on fire.
We fall to 3 we still may be able to get Aiden or Kayvon still, Houston may take a QB or Jacksonville possibly an OT if they are 2nd
