It says a lot when Florida with tens of millions less support fires their coach when he can't make a NY6 Bowl and A&M keeps him on. Sad!!!!!!
He's a perpetual 8-4/9-3 type of coach. I like to compare him to Mark Richt with a title or Dixie Harbaugh He loses annually to an unranked team (14 in 12 years), he will likely lose any and all games he is a dog (6-20 for his career), and he'll go .500 vs any ranked teams he faces (18-22 for his career without Jameis) If that's the proper return on investment for 9 mil annually, I'd rather struggle to make a bowl. So thanks, Aggies
Really, they should just make A&M tear down E. King Gill's statue and get rid of all 12th Man references. It was all just a myth.
They were about to face the best QB they've seen this year without a dc. Of course they needed an out
All part of Jimbo’s master plan to secure the top recruiting class in history. You win against Wake, no one cares because you’re supposed to. You lose, and risk the incredible momentum A&M has bought built. Don’t need anything to risk their chances with Perkins or Shemar Stewart and the title of the GOAT class. But that can’t be true. Covid, poor kids, Ts and Ps, get well soon, terrible timing with Christmas, good luck on your finals, etc..
Beating a UNC team at half strength due to opt outs and positive cases = massive win that proved A&M was legit A&M has lots of opt outs and positive cases = time to cancel this meaningless scrimmage
Texas A&M, whose entire "12th man" ethos is based on someone stepping in to play for a depleted team, doesn’t have enough bodies to participate in a bowl. Sad!
Yea it's basically a made up story about a team that has soo many injuries that the coach pulled a student out of the stands to fill in and he won the game or some shit like that
I read the story a few minutes ago. I thought it was just like the Seahawks where the loudass crowd is the "12th man on the field" but not even close College football is pretty weird
Wait, the 12th man didn't even play? He just stood on the sideline in uniform? lol "Gill suited up and stood ready to play throughout the game, forever becoming “the 12th Man”"
