It was like they they took pride in it. I used to occasionally call in to-go wings, walk down there, and drink a beer while I waited. One day, I called down there, and the woman who answered told me that now all of their takeout was done through waiter. She insisted that I had to use the app and pay extra to have my food delivered 200 yards away. I ended up going to the bar, ordering wings, and then requesting a to-go box as soon as they came out.
I’m glad you said this cause I actually adored Billy’s wings but was a little afraid to admit it due to all the (justifiable) shitting on the service
I remember a Saturday where both Alabama and Auburn had road games. They had one waitress scheduled to work lunch when one of the teams was playing. It was at that point I thought the service was intentionally bad.
Question: I'm trying to get three families together at a place downtown/near OTM/etc. tomorrow for lunch. Ideally some place where everybody can run around, etc., and it'll be easy for me to buy everyone's food without a bunch of hassle (we'd planned to have everyone over to our place, but probably not a good idea with the sewer main break we have right now...) Back Forty is an obvious one. What else?
I would probably do Slice in Vestavia but I know that's not very close to downtown. Lakeview IMO is not great for kids.
I'd forgotten about that. One family lives out in the Bessemer part of Hoover, another Fultondale, and then we're in Crestwood. But Vestavia isn't so far away.
A good number of spots have said fuck it and are closing until 2022. Looks like Paramount is planning on reopening today at 11am.
Same, and not sure if it’s omicron or delta. Came down with it this weekend along with some family members but think I’m turning the corner today. I’ll also use this as a plug to say don’t wait on getting a booster. I was holding out and hoping for more data on whether Moderna or Pfizer was better and that turned out to be dumb. Every one I know that has gotten it recently was at least partially vaccinated and some of them got sick as shit.
Pretty much! Was supposed to get the booster last week but of course my pharmacist had Covid exposure so we were going to do this week. Back to the drawing board!
We made appointments at Target - wife and I got our boosters and my son got his first (fully vax’d now thank ) all at the same time. Then took him to pick out a toy as a reward. Was quick and easy.
Got boosted at Crestline Pharmacy about a month ago and just walked in and I was gone in 4 minutes. Very easy.
Pretty sure gf had delta last week because she got wrecked for a couple of days. I didn’t have any symptoms for a week but now I have congestion and a sore throat. Should have gotten my booster. Just got tested
Just went into a CVS and 90% of the people in there aren't wearing a mask. I wonder why this is spreading so bad
i did just have a negative covid test this morning. probably a good idea for everyone to go get one this week after spending the holidays with all their unvaxxed relatives.
I really does but I think it probably has a lot of qualities that I’d like to add to Dad’s Basement. Hoping to check it out once the omicron wave dies
