it's crazy to me these guys are able to replicate their sound in the live setting like this, cracks me up they're all jacked too, gonna have to catch a show when they come around
was it NYC or all the negative blowback from that self important statement from mister pretentious and I even like their music
so they let them play 17 other sold out concerts during a spike but then decided these last three were a bridge too far it sounds like there were tons of cancellations
People are dying of a disease and cases are surging. But people want to go to a concert indoors while people are dying of this disease and cases are surging. So fuck all that we'll play these shows and promote our Amazon special while doing so $eem$ $hitty to me but maybe I'm a sheep instead of a lion
I’ve had Covid, got the vax and the booster and still the white libs want me to never go outside again
Please don't take my post as me being nonchalant about covid, as that's not the case at all. I just thought their statement read as though they also took it seriously and had a genuinely difficult time making a decision. Once their fans made it known they weren't comfortable with attending, it seemed they were perfectly ok with cancelling completely and refunding the money for the tickets. I also don't really know shit about the personalities of the members of this band, so maybe I'm off here.
I feel like an idiot for not connecting the reference, but I was not super focused during the latest season when they stole the equipment.
Snapped Ankles album's incredible, I remember not really feeling their debut, may have to give it another go
Feel like some folks in here would really dig this. It's a few years old, but I searched the board and the band has only been posted about in the heavy music thread. Insane guitar work with Cuco's chill ass vocals. I can't stop listening.
The Idles video for When the Lights Come On, I'm basically the guy going wild in it when listening to that song, which I've been doing a lot. A post-punk masterpiece
having jack white on that list was a poor move though. he sux anyways but that new single sounds like unmixed trash
using the scientific approach of combining actual news indicating releases are forthcoming and my own personal hopes and dreams, my most anticipated list would look like this: Preoccupations () Alvvays (they've apparently played new music at shows this fall) Beach House Let's Eat Grandma Nots (they released excellent albums in 2014, 2016 and 2019 and I really hope they've got another one left in the tank. Their social media activity hasn't been what it once was and their Spotify listener count has fallen big time. So wouldn't be surprised if they go the Ought route, would be sadder about them breaking up if they did ) Blouse (I still listen to them a ton despite the fact they only have two albums and haven't released anything since 2013. But I've never seen anything suggesting they ever broke up so I remain #hopeful) Beach Fossils (hopeful for a proper new album. I really liked Somersault and something else along those lines would be just fine with me) Wild Nothing (Indigo came out in 2018 and while it has grown on me, it's nowhere near Gemini or Nocturne and I'd like to see if he can get back to that level) The Courtneys (their self-titled debut came out in 2013 and they released another great record in 2017, but just some side stuff from them since then. Hoping they're still in the business of making new tunes together) Craft Spells (never seen anything suggesting dude was done making music as Craft Spells so this would be sweet) Mitski Blanck Mass https://www.metacritic.com/browse/albums/release-date/coming-soon/date
Just found Parannoul, indie/lo fi South Korean artist. Big recommend for fans of shoegaze https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/parannoul-to-see-the-next-part-of-the-dream/
Anais Mitchell, Erin Rae, Mom Jeans, String Machine, Sarah Shook and the Disarmers, Gracie Gray, Wet Leg some other highlights for me coming first quarter of 2022.
my favorite's Nonagon Infinity, other highlights for me include Flying Microtonal Banana, Murder of the Universe, and K.G.
no these lean more towards psych that can get somewhat heavy, but they've got a thrash album called Infest the Rats' Nest
