How is this a thing? I understand you are exaggerating, but I work in a financial firm and losing the internet would shut the entire company down. Because we have so many regulations forcing us and our peers to have strong IT infrastructure, shouldn’t most firms have reasonably affordable options to have good IT infrastructure?
I’ve been in touch with his client about this other things in the last week and they know. That particular email is just sitting, though.
My former boss is a good ole boy... he now works for a black lady that used to work under him. She's cool as hell and used to be my supervisor. Their company now works for my company so it's fun to attend meetings and watch my boss question him critically
I’m really not exaggerating. We haven’t had internet all week and have constant outages. They finally broke down and switched carriers hoping that fixes the issue.
I have so many sites and programs I have to log in to that make me change my password every few weeks that I'm constantly locked out/forgot my password so I have to call IT
Our current password requirement might as well be “write a short story” and I don’t know how they expect me to not keep that written down in a drawer somewhere
I send a text to myself with current PWs when I have several, frequently changing passwords. Safer, but easy to look up.
One site I only use once a month and I have to change my password every time I use it. I never have any idea what my password is and have to spend 10 minutes getting the automated email system to reset my password
The best is they all have to be different from any previous password so I have the original password I used to always use and several hundred variations of it with stars, number signs, and/or adding 123 at the end
My pgp decryption phrases were set by an idiot and have incorrect spelling that is not part of the security, but because they thought it was correct. There is an “alot” and a “becauze”
Okay, boomers. Just download a password manager. I use LastPass - super handy as you can have it on your computer browser and phone. You can also get a family account where you can share passwords with significant others, children, siblings for shared accounts, etc.
No I think I'm going to stick with getting locked out of accounts. I'm at work and not looking to be efficient
My question is why is your company working solely off email to handle client requests? That’s a really bad system.
Recommend this as a free option since LastPass made you either choose desktop or mobile only and pay for the other. The problem is you can't easily set your AD Domain/User password at a windows login with a password manager, so if you set it to something autogenerated you can't remember then you'll be looking at your phone each time you login as well as having to remember to manually update it in your password manager. That's my biggest complaint and why I use a sequence of passwords which I can cycle through (to get around reusing password restrictions) I can easily remember that I NEVER use for anything else.
These guys just pushing this password manager nonsense are just shills for Big Password. They just want to collect all your data and rummage through your accounts. Wake up, sheeple!
So the IT guy that came on Thursday to install some software didn’t even install the correct software
Team holiday outing today at a brewery. Noped out of that real quick. These people ain’t worth covid. Or driving 20 minutes.
Doesnt seem so bad to me if they allow for spacing Im in a rare position where I actually like my coworkers though
2/11 people on the team that are vaccinated have tested positive in the last week or two. They’re not going, but it’s just not worth it to me, especially if I can carry it home to my unvaxxed toddler.
Perfect timing that I managed to lock myself out of my laptop. Called IT who confirmed I was locked out (gee, thanks) then put me on hold. Still sitting on hold 15 minutes later. I’m pretty sure he’s on the other end of this phone call just dicking around on TMB instead of resetting my access.
