And what Zack Zedalis said. Southerliegh is a stones throw from Cured. The pearl Brewery is the can’t miss area in San Antonio. Leave the Riverwalk for the Branson & Pigeon Forge vacation types.
I don’t have any bbq recs, but New Braunfels is a really cool city if you can swing it while down there.
Wife let me get a pellet smoker for Christmas and my BIL had a Pitboss that I liked so I went with the 850. It’s my first one so good to start on imo and was a good deal I got at Academy since my sister works there. Pretty happy with it so far and I’ll share some pics on my next cooks. Smoked the turkey for Thanksgiving and the prime rib to Christmas and everyone enjoyed it. My favorite so far was the pork butts I did two weeks ago. Will do again.
Hop in the car and drive 40 minutes southwest to Juans Tacos in Devine. Best hole in the wall tacos I have ever had.
Lol Boudros is the only Riverwalk restaurant worth even mentioning But the guy was asking for BBQ recommendations in San Antonio and you chuds started mentioning the pearl hipster shit. You want breweries, yeah go to the pearl stuff. If you want bbq, you'll be just as good going to the Rustic
The only real time I spent in Texas was in a town called Vernon, near Wichita Falls. I loved every bit of it. I'd joined a poker message board that eventually grew into other topics, much like this one. We had a gathering to play a tournament in Vernon at the home of the founder of the board. Dude had 300 acres, a pond, and a bunch of guns. I grew up in a hunting family so I knew how to shoot. They did not think a SoCal guy would be able to hit a can of tannerite so they gave me 20-1 odds on my 10 bucks. I bricked out of the tournament in the first hour but this shot is a memory I'll take to my grave.
Yeah, San Antonio is not really known as being a top bbq town. That is why I told him he would be better off getting some killer tacos and some charcuterie. Meanwhile, you are advising him to get bbq at a gas station he can get at pretty much any city in Texas. And no one mentioned anything about breweries, only the Pearl Brewery area. Crawl back into your hole.
You literally said "pearl brewery is the cant miss area of SA" It's nothing but a mix of try hard brewery newbs mixed with over priced sandwiches
Not a top bbq town because Daniel Vaughn is an idiot SA might be close to Houston in culinary variety. Though much if it may have a Mexican influence. The Asian bbq influence is top notch If you are looking for 'traditional Texas bbq' you may be too far south. But as I said, Rudy's originated in SA, and they didn't become the biggest and most popular TX BBQ restaurant by sucking
I literally never mentioned going to a brewery, only restaurants. For those not familiar with San Antonio, Pearl Brewery used to be a brewery. It is no more. Pearl Brewery is now a retail area with shops and restaurants. I called it the Pearl Brewery area because that is what it is. I never said go to a brewery. I am sorry that you must regularly not be able to determine which places are good to eat at and always pick poorly and are left feeling overcharged. That is on you though so this is not an apology more of a feeling sorry for your crappy food discernment.
There are lots of idiots in Texas. McDonalds lines are always full. Are they one of the top burger providers in Texas? Also, Leon Springs is where Rudy’s started. Funny how you were making fun of Dallas suburbs and then immediately chose a restaurant started in what is now, but was not at the time, a suburb of San Antonio.
I'll stick to the thread and keep recommending BBQ places as requested If that's OK with you, I guess
You can do whatever you want. And cry when someone suggests maybe not bbq as the best play with only limited time in San Antonio.
Maybe suggest it that way, not just say the pearl brewery area is the place to be as a response to a question of where good BBQ is. But maybe i am way off here
And quit saying you was just doing “as requested.” The Original Rudy’s is in Leon Springs and Burnt Bean is is Sequin. He asked for BBQ in San Antonio mr rule follower.
I originally asked which side of town he would be on as to possibly suggest Seguin, an entire 10 minute drive from San Antonio. Sorry for trying to he helpful
Hello friends that are buying new grills. For the right mix of flavor and convenience, get a Masterbuilt Gravity series. A little more work vs a basic pellet grill but the flavor is better. You will also be able to get that rich sear.
Clearly they need to meet at the nearest Publix and fight to the death or more realistically until someone is winded.
For the blackstone. Do I need a cover and a lid? Got a cover for the grill and then saw some people complain about rust from moisture that leaked through. Bought a lid but in not sure if 100% necessary.
I have both and use both about 99% of the time. Only time I leave just the lid on is if I'm planning on using the blackstone again rhe same day or while it's cooling down
Anyone have any experience with a traeger ranger? I have a chance to get one for basically half off. Reviews are all over the place
