People were going nuts about this one today. Not sure what people would expect Campbell to say instead.
He played well enough over the past few games for them to justify starting him next season. 99% chance he's their guy heading into the year. Best hope is they take a qb with their late 1st/early 2nd and that player takes over in the 2nd half of next season.
One of the edge guys or a QB. My guess is Pickett enters the discussion because we will likely coach the Senior Bowl and chances are he’s on the Lions staff’s roster.
the “good” ones will be gone. That pick is going to be late 20’s now. Should have taken Carolinas offer.
We have that draft ammo to get back into the latter half of the top ten if we really want to be so bold. I would advise against it personally, but it can be done. Of course I am like five more Goff games away from claiming all those women lied and that we need to trade for Watson.
For me personally, the non Hutchinson/Thibodeaux guy I could most easily talk myself into at #2 is Corral. I just love how he plays the game, and I think his athletic ability would really complement what Campbell wants to do on offense. More than anything, Corral feels like the type of character guy that the Lions would love to have in the building.
they are a few plays away from 6 wins this year. Not a stretch to think they finish outside of bottom 5. If there is a QB you like, you gotta take one now.
That’s my thought too. I’ll be annoyed by Pickett but it’s hard to figure out QBs so who knows? Pickett throws a nice deep ball, he’s very athletic and he’s a gamer. I just question what his upside is since he’s already 24 and obviously this season has been a massive outlier for him.
Plus seems like everyone would have wanted Fields with that pick. Fields is putting together one of the worst rookie qb years ever and is a huge question mark going forward.
Trey Lance not looking great today. I think he will be good in the long run, but for how ballyhooed this past years QB class, none of those guys have done anything to make me think they are franchise caliber players. I am sure next season we will see a couple guys take a big leap, but the class has been underwhelming to say the least.
Scrolled back to the posts on draft night, and am glad to see I did not say anything negative about the Brown pick.
My fantasy team has been decimated over the last 6 weeks so I ended up with Penny and St. Brown starting for me in the championship game. Things are going surprisingly well even though my 3rd highest scorer is the Saints K that I picked up yesterday.
So we can beat the packers next week and still pick 2nd, right? Packers have nothing to play for, so doubt we get Rodgers.
