I’m not positive but I think my neighbors may be getting forcibly evicted (yeah, the Jeep owners). Two troopers and a U-Haul van showed up at ~midnight and they’ve been loading their shit up into the van ever since and the troopers appear to basically be supervising them.
I have problems identifying vegetables. A couple years ago my wife sent me to the store to get a zucchini and I brought home a cucumber. I'm still not really sure what the difference is. Yesterday I was tasked with buying a cabbage. I was concerned I might come back with a lettuce so my wife ended up just going to the store herself.
I did some research so I'd be prepared.. All the differences were basically intangibles. I Google how to tell the difference. Results were like "lettuce is the one that's generally served cold." "Cabbage is higher in nutrition." Thanks for nothing Google
It’s 5:30 am on New Years Day and I’m up watching the EPL. I put in some dumb bets while intoxicated last night. Also, RIP to NBCSN.
Dog and I fell asleep on the couch. I have about a finger of bourbon left in my glass. Yes, I’m just going to finish it now because otherwise would be wasteful.
Woke up late, popped a 25mg gummy. Going to do something today but probably not much. Going to be windy af today and temp is headed straight down from 64 right now to 30 by midnight.
hope there is no snow on the horizon for your work schedule to not be a nightmare. and for the entire Texas power grid
Yeah, no moisture in the forecast. Although it was not the moisture that got the Texas grid in February, it was just simply the cold. There were spots around Austin/Hill Country that had grid damage from ice but the truth is, if there was no grid damage they would have still been out of power.
I ended up with a yucca instead of horseradish recently. I thought it looked strange but rolled with it. Luckily yucca is basically a potato and you can fry it and it's delicious. I don't think the other way would've worked.
yeah. Just I did a smart right adult thing but it made me feel bad about who I am. Long story short took my dog for a walk and homeless dude with a knife started talking shit like “are you following me. You got a problem with me. Keep walking “ etc and instead of standing there I just walked away. I didn’t walk faster or run or anything to embolden him to make him feel like I was afraid so he’d get closer. I did keep looking back to make sure he didn’t run up on me from behind. Anyway I know I did the right adult thing but I can help but feel like a coward. If that makes sense. I almost want to go back and look for him but I understand how stupid that would be.
coward move is doing anything but exactly what you did when dealing with someone that odds dictate is having an episode of sorts grow a garden srs
Damn Daniel 1. You didn't escalate 2. You both stayed safe You absolutely did the right thing. Guilty because you didn't do 1 or 2? Why?
feel like a coward because I didn’t do 1. Younger stupid me wouldn’t have walked away. Why? Maybe because it goes against who I’ve always been.
It’s a film satirizing the modern conservative political and media climate. Pretty relevant response imo.
I don’t have issues with what it was satirizing, my issue was that it wasn’t funny outside of Chalamet and a few Jonah hill lines
Watched last night. It would have been funnier if it wasn't so accurate. Still a few good bits. Kinda depressing, truth is stranger than fiction, stuff.
I agree. I thought it was ok, but I thought it could have been more subtle. I would understand if someone didn’t like it though. I guess I didn’t love it and I wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that someone must be a trumper if they didn’t like a middling movie is the point I was trying to make
I appreciate the thread logo. Would be pretty cool if the McNairs sold the Texans and we could somehow convince the Adams to give us back the Oilers name. It’ll probably never happen though. Texans might be the lamest franchise in sports and Nashville doesnt give two shits about the Houston based history of that franchise
Sure. The absurdity of it was funny. Seemed (to me) that the intent was to provoke thought moreso than gag style humor, if that makes sense.
yes it does because that’s what satire is supposed to do. I haven’t watched it but plan to so I’m not saying it did what it intended to do.
