We took our son to his six month check-up today.....21.5 lbs (96 percentile) and 98 percentile for height. A smidge smaller than his 4 month check-up when he was 99 percentile for both.

Lol my sons head was 47 cm at his 1 year checkup. Can’t wait for his 1.5 year checkup in a few weeks.

I don't remember what my daughter's head size was, but it was so big around 8 months that it was off the charts in terms of percentile (as in line graph started going straight up) so we had to get an MRI to rule out that she didn't have any brain swelling. Thankfully it was just a case of big head. It definitely set her back in terms of developing muscle mass because it was too big to hold up and she was only a couple months old, I think it's been a big reason why her motor skills are behind her peers'.

That’s good information. My little guy’s balance sucks these days and it’s probably the bowling ball of a noggin he’s carrying around.

Yep, just found in an email that at 4 months she was 13th percentile in terms of weight but 98th percentile in terms of head circumference. That is not a good combination.

Damn kid won't roll over like his peers. Content to just stay on his back or tummy and look around. He'll roll over if he wants to but not like most other kids who just do it all the time. He's ahead in the sitting up/standing department so the other developmental milestones are there but damn we have such a chill baby its kinda frustrating when he isn't doing the normal things. 7 months and still hasn't cut a tooth yet even though I think we're close to it.

My daughter that just turned one seems like she’s going to be a talker. We have her saying thank you when you hand her something. Said I love you yesterday. Seems early to be talking. But she is babbling non stop so she’s bound to spit something out that sounds like something.

Do not rush it. Enjoy this time. Seriously.

I had a similar issue, my kid was slow to crawl and walk and my wife started researching things to help him figure it out. Called a buddy and we were talking about it and he goes “Stop! Don’t do anything but enjoy this period of time. Right now you can set that kid in the living room floor, go to the kitchen and make a sandwich or a drink and come back and he is in the same place… Don’t waste this time.”

He was right. The second that kid figures out how to move, no matter how much you “baby proof” the house, he’s going to find something he shouldn’t. I love it but it was definitely a ton easier when he couldn’t move around so freely.

All my kids have been tall for their ages. Boy has always been 90-99+% height/weight but has slowed down some. Has always had a monster head.

Dad bragged about my daughter ITT before which I try not to do at all irl but hey if you can't do that on an anonymous message board...but daughter is the tallest in her grade in a school with 5 sections and is also fast as fuck (son is not fast at all). Pretty certain she's the fastest kid in her class, boy or girl. Son is more like a DE and daughter is like a 200/400 runner.

Not sure I mentioned this before but my daughter got out and ran 3 miles with my wife when she was 5. Just killed it with no complaints. She also has a killer competitive streak. Was elbowing boys out of the way in coed soccer at like 3/4. Super interested to see what she'll do athletically.

Is it beautiful? No. Is it Effective? Absolutely.

I would have benefited greatly from having a drill press that i could clamp the angled wood down and drill down into it for the nut-sink but here we are.

Also, the awkwardness of having to grasp the angled wood to open it and his hands are not big or strong enough yet to get a purchase to open. So no more child safety latch needed.

My brag would be my son—in K last year—scored 20+ in a 28-26 basketball game. It was 3-on-3 and one teammate was handicapped and couldn’t score or guard so he kept getting beat by their best player. My son got annoyed being down 8-0, switched D assignments to take the best kid and also took over on offense beating their best player to the hoop at will.

Then in soccer he got tackled by a kid, got pissed off, and scored a double hat trick in 9-8 win. I just love the competitive streak that you can’t teach.

Im approaching the transition to bed stage. I’ll admit to looking forward to the little guy crawling into bed with us, because we were so strict about never doing that to avoid accidental suffocation, dependency issues, etc during infancy. But I don’t want it to be an every day thing obviously.

My cousin recently went through this and showed off his locking system that’s an add on outside the door. Said his kid rattles and beats on the door trying to break out for about ten minutes nightly, gives up, and goes to bed.

Back in sept we swapped to a bed. It’s been hit or miss since but getting worse. It’s like some form of separation anxiety.
There’s zero chance my wife would be OK with locking her in and I don’t know if I would be comfortable with it either. She also wakes up and goes to the bathroom at night sometimes and the lock obviously wouldn’t promote that behavior.

A large baby gate at the entrance of the mini-hallway might be a good idea though.
