They’ll reconvene 10 days before February and be shocked there’s still mountains between them after not talking for 7 weeks. Fucking assholes
this is what they always do in all sports. These people suck and both try to use our angst about the lack of progress as a pressure point against the other side. Fuck em all (but of course the owners more).
That's an awful look for Manfred and his office. What a moron. What a shame for the rest of us, too, because this means more Heyman and Morosi.
Always liked Maybin and especially enjoyed his brief time in Houston; he had a solid career and hope he enjoys his next gig with the players alliance
I never got the sense that MLB Network felt like state run media before but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. It's probably because baseball media loves to tell anyone that is paying attention how terrible the game is. Golf channel is far worse than any other as far as being a mouthpiece for the PGA Tour and they aren't even owned by the PGA.
Part of me is still really cynical about it and wondering if this story is exaggerated, but it makes Rosenthal so good he's just never going to correct it or say the specifics of what really happened. I just can't recall anything Rosenthal said or wrote that was some over the top criticism of Manfred, and if he really was suspended for 3 months or whatever last year, how did no one know it or report about it at the time?
Holy shit. This is up there with Dusty Baker’s son getting drafted recently after JT Snow grabbed him from that World Series game like 5 minutes ago.
I was trying to think of the best baseball Manning’s after that started. I realized quickly it already existed in announcers that have since retired.
Baseball already does the Manning stuff most nights if you watch MLB Tonight. It's basically Redzone meets Manning Cast at various points, only with people you'd rather punch in the face than listen to talk over the baseball going on.
The chances of me ever watching a second of the Kay/ARod thing are close to nil, but that booth is a massive improvement. Cone is very good from my random times listening to him in games and away from them. He's very smart and open minded about stuff, and Perez isn't bad. Only bad part of that for me is it probably means the end of any StatCast broadcasts, which were usually pretty good. I think this is really dumb, but I appreciate that ESPN is at least investing on some level in its baseball product. That's an improvement over the nothing they've done for the last decade+.
This is ESPN telling us that the NY market is all they give a shit about. Instead of trying to elevate the status of a national broadcast, they cop out and just cater to the three markets that will pay the bills with zero effort.
Cone is pretty good imo. I like Kay but that's probably bc that's all I know for a long time. Arod can eat a dick.
ESPN thinking A-Rod and Michael Kay are going to be able to recreate the Manningcast is fucking hilarious. maybe just put it on the YES network.
