you don’t even need to order the shoes from them. You can probably find everything you need from Amazon or some place else. The only good thing about getting shoes from them is having the delivery guys help with fit and putting the clips on your shoes. But, with Covid idk how much they are doing right now,
My wife bought a Myx Bike last year. Started riding it in November, enjoyed it and rode a decent bit after vacation and around Christmas. I've got another trip in March. Goal is 75 days straight. 60 min rides during the week and maybe shorter rides on the weekend depending what else I'm doing. I'll probably lift in the morning before everyone gets up the ride in the evening vs jumping rope or doing various other things in the garage gym for cardio. Hopefully I can hang out with my inferior bike. I do wish I had some post ride output stats Peleton has
this is all inclusive but most have and when the thread started I believe it was solely Peloton owners. It’s still the majority but all are welcomed. My two cents are that 75 days straight of 60 minute rides is crazy. You need some recovery and rest days imo. But, if you do stretch a lot and get a massage gun.
I do have a massage gun. I'll probably do some 30 minute rides on the weekends and maybe just some recover rides too. I did 15 in a row in November. We'll see how it goes
When I first got the bike I was obsessed with keeping the streak going, finally got to like 45 days and finally had to start mixing in rest days because my knees were shot.
when I first got the bike I felt I needed to ride every day to justify the purchase. Me and my wife thought about it for about a year before we got it. I’ve proven I will use it so now keep my streak going with meditation classes or restorative yoga classes which are basically lay down close your eyes and hug a pillow classes. I feel like I’m cheating but oh well.
IDK. I doubt we'd be able to coordinate everyone to do it at the same time. I'd say maybe give everyone like 30 days and just post stats?
we can try and coordinate. Saturdays are my long days and I usually ride early those days. Not sure if that would work for you guys early for me might be a decent time for you guys depending where you are.
Done almost 150. Anna and aditi are my favorites but they are pretty much all good. Do the Dennis reset where it's a ride and yoga back to back. Kristin Mcgee is also the milfiest.
Forgot how great the boot camps are and how much they suck at the same time. Doing a 45 minute one seems so much more difficult than doing a 45 minute ride and a 20-30 minute strength class.
I know people hate the instructors but sticking strictly to the bike PZ is where you get the most realization of improvement. But the answer is just get a good variety.
I LOVE boot camps. Tread bootcamps more than bike bootcamps though. The extra step of changing shoes is just so cumbersome.
devine iirc (it’s been over 4 years) they come i European size so you have to know what size that is for you.
I believe in a wholistic approach to health. Strength, cardio, flexibility and mental. Meditation classes are so clutch. I need to be more consistent with them and my yoga.
Just adding if you are setting your bike up on carpet, a mat IS a must. Whether it's Peloton's or an Amazon one...either way. But it's absolutely a must.
Well it was fun when it lasted. I put plywood under the mat, too. After 1 year I replaced the plywood because it was rotting from the sweat.
We can try Sat mornings. I know next Sat will be tough. But we can go from there. Start this Sat early?
This has good reviews Mat Sweat Towel for the Peloton Bike & Bike+ Accessories for Peloton - Easy Cleanup for Intense Hill Climbs
Seeking wisdom here, my good friend Boo MFer! has sung the peloton praises to me and I needed to hear from more of you. I had been doing Orangetheory around 4 days a week at my peak, but between having a child and work schedule changing in the last year I’ve been reduced to 1-2 times per week if I’m lucky. Feels like Peloton is the move to get back in shape and would be much easier for my wife and I given the on demand nature. So any thoughts, tips, recommendations, etc would be welcomed. I’m 99% sure we’re going with the Bike+ And then will probably add a dumbbell set at some point.
You can't overstate how much the convenience of not getting in your car, getting somewhere early, not having to schedule, etc is When you buy make sure to use a referral
Only thing I would say is peloton can definitely do it but OT is just very different from the range of things you're doing. But as far as the leaderboard and things like this, it can be motivating. Maybe just get an LED lightbulb for your workout room so you can turn it orange just to give you the vibes.
get the peloton app. Check it out because it is so much more than just the bike. Being able to workout within seconds of when you want to is amazing. This is literally the best health purchase I’ve ever made. You’re going to want to pick up some dumbbells for strength classes and a yoga mat for strength and yoga classes. Get the code from someone to save $100 on accessories. Welcome to the totally not a cult.
I got a bike 12/14 and am close to 50 rides. Am really liking it so far. Switched jobs and don’t have time to go run with a new commute and short winter days. The convenience factor is legit. I also have a promo code if you want to use it. It expires 1/9 so not much time. Feel free to use if you want (or someone else). I’ll get a credit towards some merch so…. The Peloton shoes were narrow for my feet but went with the Nike super rep and fit my feet just fine. https://www.nike.com/t/superrep-cycle-mens-indoor-cycling-shoes-bsXw1J
just bookmarked then I might take one Saturday to see how it is. The dates are confusing because they aren’t in chronological order.
What time were you thinking. I can do this Sat as long as it's kinda early. I'm in Mtn time. If not I'll just post stats after Im done. Side note I really hate Emma sometimes. I just wanted an easy 30 minute ride after a short run today. So I did her newest Rock ride. The last 10 minutes was basically a climb ride all above 60 resistance. I joined the session a few minutes late and wound up racing this guy the last 6 minutes and was barely short of a PR. I'm pretty sure I've cussed at her the most of any instructor.
im west coast so it doesn’t matter to me pick a time and I’ll try to make it. I’ll ride first and take me puppers on his walk afterwards.
this gave me flashbacks to a 45 minute 90s rock ride of hers I did a little while ago. I did it live so I couldn’t preview it. She starts the ride “blah blah blah yada yada yada oh BTW guys I know it says 90s rock but this class in essence will be a 45 minute Climb ride lol”. All I could do is look at my screen and yell” I hate you Emma you beautiful mind numbingly sexy bitch please be gentle” .
