Honestly, covid has made me change my perspective on how I think about events. I usually would need to have friends to go to events, but this past year I went to a few solo. I went to a Lord Huron at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery and Bon Iver at the Youtube Theater solo. Both were bad ass and even though I knew I could do it they proved to me I could do it. 75% of it was just pulling the trigger and making it happen. I've been there and done that multiple times in my life, but actually making it happen is a different story. So now I just spent a ton of money on concert tickets.
Edit add on: what I meant to say is if I can go solo then make it happen. At the end of the day don't wait on people to go with.
I was supposed to have free tickets for myself and the wife and I can't imagine that still being the case. I wouldn't be surprised to see a last-minute dip in pricing though depending on the teams. We are a fickle market that could have new restrictions at any moment as I know you are well aware.
According to everyone in Dallas - yes. According to everyone in LA - eh, let's keep people on the edge of their seat
I can't imagine the shitshow if they moved it this late though - people would lose their minds from businesses/vendors/event organizers/staff - obviously the stadium itself and fans that have booked flights and hotels. It's just not feasible without negatively impacting hundreds of thousands of people - but that may be the decision they're making now between whether it's worth it or not due to Covid protocols that are just now released as of Friday.
The superb owl has and will always belong on this board. lol I forgot about that damn thread and who had the owl in their house.
Him letting her shovel the driveway while tweets aside. That is a terrible shovel for the task at hand. She could’ve finished by the time he got dragged if she had the proper shovel.
Been rolling solo to concerts for a long time. Can be a really enjoyable experience since you don't have to worry about anyone else's shit haha. For the same reason, and because the next CFP will be in LA, I'm leaving this AM to go to the National Championship. Never guaranteed, never gonna be more affordable, gotta make it happen when I can. Luckily my buddy was able to sex his wife real good and convince her he should go to. It'd be financially irresponsible to NOT go. So off to Louisville today.
Before Covid I got into going to movies alone. Honestly the last film I saw in a theater was 1917. That feels like a lifetime ago.
The day I heard they were thinking about moving the super bowl to Dallas, I checked hotel rooms and rooms you can normally get for $100 on any regular cowboys game weekend were already listed for $400 a night
Imagine being one of the event organizers at the NFL if it’s moved. You’re looking at like 100 hour work weeks for a while, I’d imagine
only 1 of 1,000,000 reasons to have weed federally legal and supervised. If I buy 1 more gawd damn bag of oregano I swear on me mum…
I've always wondered why they've never done it for the increase in taxes and decrease in police/prison budgets. Not to mention the medical uses that could help the “opioid” crisis
Not sure how a prison budget works, but the jail in the county that I live has a weird loop hole for the sheriff. Any excess funds the jail doesn’t use go directly to the sheriffs pocket. A while back it was found out that the jail food budget was cut dramatically and our sheriff purchased a lake house, sports car, ski boats, etc…
Easy killer. It was only meant to be humorous. I 100% agree with you. Unfortunately our politicians evolve at a glacial pace relative to the populace. Again, no offense intended.
It's a gateway drug. One day you're smoking weed and the next you're stealing and murdering to support your PCP habit.
its not remotely myopic to point at the biggest hurdle to federal legalization and people who don't really have an interest in any of the "positives" in that post if both parties are also at fault as some kind of deflection from discussing the path
It’s amazing living in a state with horrible overcrowded prisons, that is attempting to use its Covid money to build more prisons, to watch them refuse to do the easiest fucking thing to help by legalizing marijuana. Not to mention the whole revenue thing that it desperately needs to do things like fix it’s shitty education system.
