Dominating control, a shot per minute but trailing because you can’t get anything by the goalie. Then, this happens.(watch the slow mo)
Northeastern women now 18-2-1 after two wins over Merrimack this weekend, 8-0 and 3-1. First games in over a month. Looks like the time off allowed them to get fully healthy. Got two games vs UNH next weekend and then 3 games vs BC/BU in the span of a week the men are now 15-4-1 after two shutouts of LIU this weekend. ASU coming to Matthews Arena on Tuesday, which should be an awesome experience for those guys
Sounds like Carolina got in a bind at goalie due to injuries and paid him a sizeable signing bonus to get him to join the organization now.
My son had a hockey team party when I received that push notification on my phone. I was confused myself.
Power, Johnson, Brisson and Beniers all going to the Olympics. Sucks for us but I’m super intrigued by the Olympics now when I had zero interest two weeks ago.
The Gophers have 3 current player going to the Olympics with Ben Meyers, Brock Faber & Matthew Knies (as well as alum Aaron Ness). Add that to losing LaFontaine to Carolina and losing Jaxon Nelson for 4-6 weeks with a leg injury and I think Rhett Pitlick for 2-3 weeks and this was a rough week for the Gophers roster.
The kick? Unfortunately, it was rightfully overturned. We will stop kicking pucks in when your goalie stops kicking the net off to avoid us.
Yeah, it was tongue in cheek to that and the offsides. Y'all dominated after Beecher choked with entire net open. GG.
It was a good game to watch. Despite 1-1 at the end or regulation it didn’t feel slow. I’m excited for tonight’s follow up. I feel like at our best we can play with anyone but we’ve had a huge problem with consistency of effort or executing assignments which has led to a good game and bad game most series. This was the best I’ve seen Sammy Walker get back on defense so I need to see it again to believe it.
I need to know the record for five minute majors in a season, because we have to be closing in on shattering it
Michigan should have won last night and Minnesota should have won tonight. Sucks both teams are gonna lose guys to the Olympics.
Your Alaska Nanooks are looking to extend their win streak to a season high 4 games tonight against St. Thomas.
First Ohio State game I've watched this year. Pretty even game till Gophs took the lead then they completely shut down anything inside besides 1 breakaway we scored on.
I'm aware, its gonna be close. I think y'all can sweep the rest of the way, definitely manageable schedule after tomorrow(big game though for sure). PSU and Wisconsin are bad. UM should stomp MSU again and be at 45 with 4 games left. But we still have OSU and at ND. If OSU takes points off us next weekend I think y'all will take the ship.
Talent-wise, yes, we should take 4 against PSU & Wisconsin but we haven’t been consistent enough to believe in winning out. It’s been one great night and then multiple lapses the next.
Steve Rohlik, the Ohio State coach, is a Badger alum. He has achieved well above expectations. I’d start the search there.
Anyone have Mel Pearson's number? Just looking for a strategy for UND tonight with 5 D and 11 F available. Plus I am hearing there is worse news coming from Beijing.
It should be a good finish. Michigan has clinched a top 2 finish. Minnesota would need to lose all 3 remaining and have Notre Dame win out (including a sweep of Michigan) to not finish top 2.
