Ryan Day should be the highest paid coach in the Big Ten by the end of the month. He just hired a new DC (Knowles) and a new OL coach (Frye). Our WR coach (Hartline) was promoted to a new title/salary. We are shopping on defense, but everything is just rumor at this point about positions/coaches. Day isn’t going anywhere.
How hard is it to slap a co-OC tag on him if you want him that badly? It's like VP's at a bank; everyone's a fucking co-coordinator these days.
It’s not, I don’t think we wanted him that badly when Heistand was still living in SB and doesn’t require the money or title. I’d look for us to tag whoever we get for WR as co-OC or similar.
Yeah, my bad, didn’t intend to make it sound like he was gonna be the guy but the title got in the way.
We'll never know, but as long as we got a big upgrade, which goes without saying in this case. Either would have been good.
There are about 4-5 guys we are looking at to fill probably two spots in the secondary. A few of them have been interviewed already. Addae's name has been mentioned but so far I haven't seen that coming from anyone too reputable.
Every one of our assistants on the offensive side have a title except Urban Meyer’s son in law Corey Dennis as QB coach. OC, Assistant Head coach, Passing Game Coordinator, etc.
The rumor is Golding is out regardless of the outcome of tonight and y’all are replacing him with Scott as DC.
It's weird. The defenses always improve over the course of the year, but it takes them so long, and it's like when we start a season they've never even practice tackling or other fundamentals.
Well that's always been our excuse, but this year it wasn't supposed to happen because of how much we returned. They definitely turned it on over the course of the year though.
Your standard is "best defense in CFB that dominates every opponent every week". That's kind of a difficult standard to live up to.

Valai is on an amazing run, 6 different programs in 6 seasons. Those 6 do not include the Houston Cougars or the Philadelphia Eagles, both of whom he accepted job offers in 2021 before signing with Alabama.
