And he's surrounded himself with like-minded people, such as Josh D'Amaro, who is over the resorts and parks.

My kids were team boats as well. And it was a mid 50's day with rain.

I wanted to shout out The Boathouse at Disney Springs. Food, service was fantastic. Wolfgang Pucks on the other hand... not so much

On our trip we had dinner at Toledo inside the Grand Destino and goodness was that a great looking hotel inside. The views from the balcony at Toledo also amazing.

my wife told me I can pick the restaurant the night we're there that's my birthday. I think we have the kids pretty much covered with every other event so I can be a little selfish here - any suggestions?

we have park hopper so it can be anywhere.

booked all of our reservations this morning. had to move some stuff around, but pretty much got everything we wanted.

I think we put too much on our schedule (6 breakfast/lunch, 5 dinners in a 7 day trip) but I figure we can cancel things based on how everything is going once we're there.

That’s what we did. So hard to know ahead of time. We ended up canceling our last two breakfast reservations because we valued that time in the morning more for sleep and park prep without the craziness of making it in time for the reservations. Missed out on Chef Mickeys because of it.

Taking the kids (20 and 11) on a trip to California in June. 4.5 days will be in the LA area. Does 2 days of Disneyland in June give you enough time to see and do enough or should we do 3 days in the 2 parks?

1.5 days LA stuff/3 days Disneyland
    or
2.5 days LA stuff/2 days Disneyland

    Opinions?

Went to Epcot on Friday to try the art festival booths and it was crazy packed with a 5-6 hour line for the god damn Figment popcorn buckets. Every booth was packed. This is what I get for getting rid of Instagram and not seeing this stuff on my stories.

    Be Our Guest (lunch)-Excellent Choice

Hollywood & Vine (breakfast) - I'm already lobbying to get this cancelled-Meh
Oga's Cantina (lunch/drinks)-Excellent Choice, but they don't really serve lunch. It's more snack food like chips. I'd reccomend doing some quick service about an hour or so before you head to Oga's.
Teppan Edo (dinner)-never actually eaten here, but I'm sure its fine.

Tutto Italia (dinner)-Change this to Via Napoli.

Tusker House (breakfast)-Excellent choice- just make sure the characters are actually going to be there. If not, cancel it. It's just another overpriced buffet with no characters.
    The Boathouse (dinner)-Heard amazing things.

Topolino's (breakfast)-I've hear the dinner is amazing, nothing about the breakfast (I'd probably cancel this one because it's pretty far out of your way to go for a non-character breakfast)
Space 220 (dinner)-I've heard the food is solid but the drinks are more what's fun/great.

-If you could swap this, it's probably best. Space for lunch, Topolino for dinner.

Royal Table (breakfast)-Must do if you have girls

Chef Mickey's (breakfast)-The traditional character breakfast.
Ohana (dinner)- Probably your best pull, hopefully your seeting time is about 20-30 min BEFORE fireworks are supposed to start so even if you get delayed, you still get to see the fireworks (It's absolutely worth throwing a $10 at the hostess to try and get a table near the window.

My only critque would be that you have two buffet style meals on your last day. That's gonna be a lot of fucking food to finish off your trip.

The only thing I will say is that you still have quite a bit of character breakfast's in there. Just a friendly reminder that the food is largely the same at each one of these things with a couple signature dishes at each one.

Ex-Same Eggs, Bacon, Waffles, Fruit, Sausage, etc. Just a thing to keep in mind.

the thought here is that my kids are young - turning 5, 3 & 2 so they're going to be more excited to see the characters than be able to enjoy the rides.

Best breakfast character experience for me is chip and dale’s harvest feast at garden grill. The cinnamon rolls are worth it alone. It’s usually not overly crowded- characters seemed to have more time with the kids at each table that way.

aren't all the character breakfasts still non-interactive? ex a barrier in between the character and the guests?

Oh you may be correct. I haven’t been since COVID. I should’ve mentioned that this was my precovid experience. Without direct interaction, I’d think all character meals are a big waste of money. As mentioned, the food is mostly meh.

We did a few character meals and the kids can't touch or hug the characters but kids can stand and take photos with the characters.

At Chef Mickey's and Tusker House they characters danced to music.

Be our guest was a waste of a lot of money.

Be our guest for lunch is the way to experience it. It counts as a counter service if you do the meal plan (does that exist again yet?) and you still get to sit down and have your food delivered to you. You get to walk around and see the castle but it doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg for it like the dinner.

bingo. Also, the dinner just isn't that good. It's California Grille prices for Longhorn Steakhouse quality food. Not to be a steak snob, but I like my steak Pittsburgh medium rare which any decent steak house can accomodate. When I asked for it that way at Be Our Guest, the chef sent the server out to say that wasn't possible.

No such issue at any of the other "fine dining" restaurants in Disney.

So my girlfriend is graduating from law school and wants to do both Disneyland and Disney World over 12 days for our trip to celebrate. She normally plans everything pretty much for our trips but I want to help more this time so she doesn’t have to worry about it.

I’m still a little confused on how the Genie + works though. I think that’s my biggest concern right now. Has anyone used it and able to explain it a little better?

Genie+ is fastpass except you pay for it and you don’t book ahead, you book once you enter the park.

If you’ve ever done maxpass at Disneyland, it’s exactly that.
