Neither have said anything publicly, but both should come back. Ruggles (K) may make an NFL roster as an undrafted free agent, so probably should take an extra year of free grad school. Dawand Jones (RT) could go between 3-6 rounds, but also could move himself to 1 or 2. We’re also waiting on DE Zach Harrison, who should come back. Right now, my best guess is that it’s: QB: CJ Stroud RB: Henderson TE: ? WR: Smith Njigba and Harrison/Fleming/Egbuka (new) RT: Dawand Jones RG: Donovan Jackson (new) C: Luke Wypler LG: Matt Jones (new, but has started) LT: Paris Johnson This offense led FBS in points and total offense in 2021. The defense needs a complete overhaul, but returns a lot. DE Zach Harrison DT Taron Vincent DT Tyleik Williams (new) DE JT Tuimoloau (new) LB Steele Chambers LB Tommy Eichenberg/Cody Simon S/LB Ronnie Hickman CB Denzel Burke CB Cam Brown FS Bryson Shaw SS Tanner McCallister (Okla St transfer)
don’t worry about it, I have done my fair share. I think I got calmer with age(finally) but I am still prone for a bad day from time to time lol. or are you messing with me, not sure of anything anymore damn
My wife also fascinated/disbelieves. She thinks I’m just talking it up so that I can spend more time talking college football.
Really hoping for a night game. Do any #Notre Dame Fighting Irish fans know how the NBC television rights work? FOX and ABC/ESPN have done a sort of draft the last several years. Fox will snag Ohio State-Michigan with the first pick, and I assume this game will be the most attractive to ABC/ESPN for the second pick. I wasn’t sure where NBC factors into all of that though.
Yes, surely people will turn the channel if ND is getting killed as probably the only game on that night.
It’s not sandbagging - ND literally never wins these games it’s been 25 years of the same shit. It’s just mental conditioning at this point however gave out a like for the great gif
Yeah. I watched the Rose Bowl after watching out back seven get repeatedly torched in the Fiesta Bowl. This isn't sandbagging. Our D is in trouble. Though I do believe ND will be able to move the ball and put up some points-hopefully on the ground to play keepaway. I don't think we'll look terrible, but with a new QB in his first solo start on the road against a top 5 team, I just don't see the Irish keeping up. However, if the young starters on offense develop, I could see a rematch. By 2023 in South Bend, I hope to be really ready to flip the script.
None at all. FOX will probably “draft” the weekend of Michigan-Ohio State (thus giving them the first choice of games that weekend), and then presumably ABC/ESPN would draft Labor Day weekend where they can select this game and then put it on whatever time they’d want. It appears their choice for the prime time slot would be between UGA-UO and ND-Ohio State.
I think my wife has come around to TMB. I've learned how to do a lot of things, cook a lot of things, interesting/dumb facts, and get real life news before she does. I'll never tell her the web address tho.
Here’s what we’re looking at, post Spring game, appreciate if someone has a similar ND rundown: QB CJ Stroud RB Treveyon Henderson WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba WR Marvin Harrison Jr (new) WR Emeka Egbuka or Julian Fleming (both new) TE Gee Scott (new) LT Paris Johnson LG Donovan Jackson (new) C Luke Wypler RG Matt Jones (new) RT Dawand Jones The new WRs all played in the Rose Bowl as Olave/Wilson sat. Matt Jones started Clemson and Alabama in 2020, but got caught in numbers in 2021 when Mumford moved to guard. Our only real questions are OL depth and TE. DE Zach Harrison, but Tuimoloau may beat him DE Jack Sawyer (new) DT Taron Vincent DT Tyleik Williams (new) LB Steele Chambers LB Tommy Eichenberg CB Denzel Burke CB Cam Brown S Josh Proctor (new) S Tanner McCallister (new) S Ron Hickman Proctor was a 2021 starter, but broke his leg. McCallister is a transfer from Oklahoma State who followed our new DC. The young sophs on the DL are very good. Our LBs are very suspect.
Saw this in the ND thread... "To be sure, the Buckeyes will have a skill-position advantage. But Notre Dame will put a better offensive and defensive line on the field in Ohio Stadium than the Buckeyes will."
