End of this game is a win win now. Beating Packers and ending on a strong note going into next season (and really no clear #1 pick) or lose and get #1 pick
The defense imploding the last few weeks after playing pretty well for a stretch is disappointing, regardless of the outcome. Not being able to stop Jordan Love and GB's back-ups is not what I was hoping for to end the season.
The Rams scored 17 points and Stafford was red hot. Then they didnt score for 34 minutes of the game. Man I know that feeling.
Projecting the 5 games that Goff played in with Campbell calling plays and he goes for 3,862 yds/37 tds/7 ints. They're going to give him every chance to be the starter next season. Maybe they pick a qb that slides with their first pick in the second but don't seem them trading up to get a guy with their 1st from LA.
Olave in the back half of round 1 with the LAR pick seems like the kind of WR we could really use to complement St. Brown. No clue where Olave ends up getting picked, but as of now he seems like a better fit than others in that group (assuming Williams and Wilson go in the top 15).
Swift/Williams St. Brown/Hock/Reynolds/1st Round Rookie Plus a healthy top 5 OL Hard to argue that the pieces aren't there to have an upper tier offensive unit next year. Health and Goff are going to determine if that translates on to the field or not
Goff playing that well without a full OL or Hockenson down the stretch was both encouraging and scary at the same time, but I really hope it doesn't lead to them just assuming he's back on a path to being a good (or even league average) QB again when more pieces are there.
So assuming we have 2 outside receivers with ARSB at slot and Hock at TE, is Reynolds a starting caliber outside WR or good depth at WR?
With ASB, Hockenson and Swift, I think Reynolds can be a top 3 WR here. The over the middle/underneath stuff is covered. We need big plays guys on the outside around them. I think he can be one of those guys.
I think Reynolds, Cephus and Hodge can be a pretty good 3, 4 and 5 if you consider St. Brown the 2 and draft a real 1. Not the fastest crew, but some size and talent.
This is great for many reasons, but mainly because we can get Ben Johnson as OC and Pleasant as DC for a week.
I'm very tired of the Calvin Johnson/Lions story, and I think it's mainly because of Birkett doing everything in his power to keep that beef alive on Twitter.
Birkett is so annoying on Twitter with just about everything. Give me Raven all day. It’s just food and wrestling tweets with the occasional link to a story he wrote.
The two teams get to work together to determine the rosters. Since the Jets have Wilson, I’m sure they didn’t care so much about the QBs.
