I think Corral is most likely QB to go in the top 5, but we will see.

All the good throws are Matt and the bad throws are Kelly. That makes more sense now: Matt isn't inconsistent, he's just sharing snaps with his wife, who is NOT that good a football player.

Poor Matt could have done way better for a trophy wife. Probably didn’t get a prenup, so he’s got no way out unless he wants to lose millions.

He probably hates her no more or less then any of us hate our wives. She's also fertile, has a great rack, and plays a great bad cop to his good cop.

We have Jalen Tolbert on our SB roster. He’s a WR I could see us taking in the second round.

Olave with the Rams pick is my WR choice. No clue if he's still there, but I think his skills set fits what we need next to St. Brown somewhat perfectly.

Wouldn’t hate adding Heyward as an H-Back type player. Think he’s versatile enough to play a few different roles here.

I think my dream with the Rams pick is a guy like Willis, or more realistically, Lloyd or Dean. We need to upgrade LB desperately.

That's the range in this draft where you can get a top flight WR or LB and I'm fine either way. And then take the other one at the top of the 2nd.

Reading Burke’s breakdown of Brugler’s mock, I think he’s right when he says our best chance of trading down from 2 is if an OT goes 1. It still seems unlikely we would get an offer worth dropping down for, but that is my new dream.

Trade value at the top of this draft is going to be shit compared to years when there's a QB. Those old trade value charts are out the window.

If Philly offered 15 and 16 and maybe a third rounder for 2, I think I'd do it (at least at the moment). That's horrible value in most years, but I don't think Philly would do that in this one.

From Kiper's mock draft. Feel like Howell has the best potential of this year's qb crop.

    2. Detroit Lions

    Kayvon Thibodeaux, DE, Oregon

The Lions finished with the same number of wins (three) as the Jaguars, but doesn't it feel as if they're in a much better position? Well, maybe not so fast. The defense allowed the second-most points in the league (27.5 per game), and the offense had major consistency issues, which led to coordinator Anthony Lynn's firing. This is a roster that could use talent upgrades at several positions.

That's why it's a no-brainer to take Thibodeaux or Hutchinson here, whoever is still on the board. Thibodeaux, who was a No. 1 overall high school recruit, has elite upside. His get-off at the snap is lightning-quick, and though he's still developing secondary pass-rush moves, he doesn't need them when he can blow by offensive tackles before they're out of their stance. Thibodeaux had half as many sacks (seven) as Hutchinson this season, but he had the second-best pressure rate in the country (17.8%). Charles Harris, who led Detroit with 7.5 sacks this season, is a free agent, which makes this even more of a problem position.

    28. Detroit Lions (via LAR)
    Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina

I'm not sold on Jared Goff being Detroit's guy past 2022, so why not take a quarterback flier here with the pick it got from the trade with the Rams? By taking Howell in Round 1, the Lions would get his fifth-year option, which means they could hand over the reins in 2023. Yes, they have a lot of needs, but if they think they can get their future starting signal-caller, they should pounce.

Howell is a tricky evaluation, and he could definitely drop to Round 2. He looked like a potential top-10 pick after his sophomore season in 2020. At the beginning of the 2021 season, though, he really struggled, and he put a lot of bad tape out there while throwing to a completely new set of pass-catchers. He settled back in and improved down the stretch, finishing with 24 touchdown passes and nine picks, plus 11 rushing scores. He throws a beautiful deep ball and has tremendous touch on passes.

All the Howell sucks talk is mostly just twitter/internet echo chamber stuff. Look up his stats, this season was much better than people give credit for. He's really a victim of his own hype. Everyone expected him to be the next in line to Burrow and Lawrence, but I don't think anyone could have been playing on that terrible UNC roster. Compare his numbers with Matt Corral, passing is pretty much the same with Howell being the better runner. Corral also had a significantly stronger supporting cast but only Howell is seen as the disappointment.

In this weak draft class if they're going to go for a developmental qb, they should probably chance on the guy with the best tools and that's Howell. With the extra contract year for 1st rounders, they'll likely do it with the Rams pick vs their own 2nd.

All anyone saw of Howell this year was the opener vs VT. He was solid the rest of the way, and honestly his OL and pass catchers let him down. I still prefer the upside of Willis but I’m fine taking a shot on Howell.

Howell is also the opposite of a locker room leader - rumor's he's a biblethumping weirdo and wasn't really liked by his teammates - which definitely fit what I watched on the field with UNC

Don't put that much stock in the record, UNC is a garbage program. Overall he won more than should have been expected there and he spent this past season running for his life behind that line. But didn't know about the religious piece, that's a huge red flag and pretty much takes him off the board. Given the climate in this country and history of guys like Wentz, Foles and Cousins, having an evangelical at qb just doesn't work in the NFL.

I dont care about record much either, just watch him and you don't see a QB who looks like he's going to be a great NFL QB. Ive watched multiple full games of his. Also think he had three games this year where he had ball with a minute or less down 7 or less and threw a pick. He screams Christian Ponder, just because he's one of better QBs in class doesn't mean he should be drafted anywhere near 1st round

Howell had a bad year. That offense is also weird and hard to judge in terms of pro potential. All of these guys except for Pickett need a redshirt year in the pros, and it's hard to tell what they might look like in a normal offense. Howell ran for almost 1,000 yards when you take out sacks (might have gone over 1k, actually). He's never going to even come close to that in the league. Same with Corral and Willis. All those guys have legit starting talent, but none of them can play right now. I fear that if we draft any of them, the fan base will be putting a ton of pressure to bench Goff and force them into games, which is a bad idea.
