Yeah maybe I should've just called it the no touchdown game instead of the no punt game, hadn't had enough coffee yet.
So my unexpert thoughts. Pittsburgh should hopefully allow some rest during prep and ideally a quarter or rotations off in the game. They have a week 16 game plan that went well. Tomlin is good, but he still has to work with the players on that roster. Pittsburgh is also the next playoff demon to exorcise. Cincinnati could walk into Nashville and take out the titans while the Chiefs get their revenge on the Bills. Bring on Patrick vs Joe II at arrowhead for the AFC title game. We get that game in the divisional round if the patriots take the bills. The path still feels pretty good.
the bengals have been so hot or cold, I can see them rocketing to the super bowl and I can also see them scoring 17 points and losing in the first round. it’s a decent field for us and about a good a path as you could hope for as a 2 seed
Up until #15, Priest was my favorite Chiefs player of all time. And Hall is responsible for my favorite in-person Arrowhead memory ever - the Denver punt return. Fucking love those guys. This is a fun read: https://theathletic.com/2928287/202...ats-instinct-and-maybe-running-for-your-life/
Not that I totally disagree, but also we lost to literally everyone left in the afc playoffs this year.
I'm not saying I'm confident we're beating the Bills. Just that the Bills and the Chiefs look to be the best teams in the playoffs with Playoff Pat mode engaged. If the Bills are going to do it ever, this is probably the year for them to do it.
What’s the deal with EB? Is there something we are not seeing? Is it Pedersen and Nagy? Is it legitimately that GMs are making one diversity interview and he’s just not the hot name on the list of black coaches? It’s just so odd that he went from strong buzz to in the interview mix to pretty much no attention. The vibes I get are that he’s a good leader of people, relatable, and maybe doesn’t have the offensive play calling/fine player development details of the most elite assistants. The last part is what you hire staff for. Idk.
Not sure how accurate it is, but Dan Patrick claimed that Minnesota is apparently really interested in him
I had also heard (completely internet rumors) that he might have skeletons in closet from recruiting violations when at Colorado. Or he has a handshake deal to replace Andy when he decides to retire after winning 3 more Super Bowls and EB decides its better to coach Mahomes than a team constantly has HC turnover every 2-3 years.
It's fascinating to me that the baggage is *allegedly* bad enough that he can't get an HC spot, but not so bad that he can't be the offensive coordinator
He’s currently being supervised by someone who is obviously great at keeping people in his care from making bad choices.
A JoCo sheriff arresting and booking a young black man on a misdemeanor charge, color me skeptical that it’s actually a big deal.
No, probably not. It’s not ideal to have a key defensive player out messing around at midnight, then having to go to court on Thursday of the divisional round.
Per Willie Gay’s rep Maxx Lepselter, Gay was at his son’s house visiting. He and the mother got into an argument, during which he broke her vacuum. "No one was touched … beyond the broken appliance” per Lepselter. Gay was charged with destruction of property of less than $1,000.
RIP LC. Man knew his way around a burnt end, that’s for sure. After opening day we always take Blue/Swope parkway home and always stop into LC’s for some burnt ends.
Heading down to the game tomorrow. Haven’t been to a game since the big comeback against the Texans on our way to the Super Bowl two years ago. I think last year was the first time I didn’t make it to a single game since I first started going when I was 9. Always feels good getting back to Arrowhead. Anyone else going to be in attendance?
Fuck I want to. Wife has to work all weekend until the Super Bowl is over. Don't think I want to deal with taking a 6 year old to the game.
