Little trio of poly have arrived. Basically all being blind internet purchases I didn't know what to expect for triggers. The Glock is pretty much trash as you'd figure, even with the Apex replacement. Certainly better than a stock trigger but it's still almost gross. The Sauer trigger is surprisingly good, like really good. I was going to get it and immediately replace with an Armory Craft trigger but it stays stock now as I think replacing it with anything will be a step backwards. The Ed&P Fueled, I don't know how to explain it, but I have 1911 triggers that are heavier than this. I don't understand how they can get this trigger as light as it is yet the Glock Apex trigger is bleh. So I don't know if it's Ed Brown doing something different with their Apex triggers or if Glock pistols just suck so bad you can't overcome it.
What's your handgun count these days, burnttatertot ? And feel free to answer, I'm not a cop. Also, I know you're going out on that boat this weekend and accidents do happen...
Every time I get around 80 I start dumping some I don't shoot. Ideally I'd like to clear a bunch out and keep it below 50 at all times. Nobody needs this many firearms, it's a bit ridiculous. That being said this last batch of guns were good pick ups.
Went out with some friends from work today(we are all off), and spent all afternoon at the range. Shot a little bit of everything, fuckton of 9 mm, 7.62x25, 12 ga, .308, 5.56, 7.62x39. Just like 5 hours straight of shooting. Had an absolute blast.
Broke out my two trigger gauges (Timney & Lyman) and did a series of 8 pulls with each one, here are the results: Glock 19 - 4 Pounds 8 Ounces Sig Spectre - 3 Pounds 14 Ounces Ed&P Fueled - 2 Pounds 5 Ounces
So I searched everywhere for a Zev OZ9c Comp, including gunbroker, none available ANYWHERE. It's a gun that's been out for over a year now, and can't be found anywhere on-line in stock. All the Zevs on their website say 60 days out. Blows me away I can't get a poly gun that costs 3x as much as it should. At $1,800+ these should be collecting dust on shelves. $1,800+ and it doesn't even include the fucking red dot. I'm half tempted to drive an hour up the road to Centralia to tell these assholes what I think about their overpriced shitshow operation. Anyway, ordered one because yet again I have an extra dot I don't know what to do with. I really need to stop ordering red dots if I don't have a plan for them. Zev should make my shit first since I'm local. If this is a minute over 60 days I'm crawling up someones ass.
I like 'em, but it was like the third gun I ever owned so I didn't really know any better at the time.
Got a new flash hider for the AK, convinced the guy at the range to cut the lights down and let me test it out. Didn't blind myself
Speaking of your ridiculous fuckin state, quick juggsian research says I can’t bring my firearm with me when I drive up from Georgia next week (regardless of my carry permit.)
Need some recs on AR’s or something of that type for less than a grand. Won a gun raffle and have no idea what to get.
Home defense and range toy I guess. I don’t hunt. It’s the only type gun I don’t have, besides like a large caliber pistol, so I thought about maybe a 45 too.
So there are any number of AR pattern rifles and pistols in this price range. Based on what you're saying, I would go with something chambered in 9mm. 9 mill is cheap, readily available, and you can buy rounds specifically for home defense. You can use 5.56 for home defense if you want to, but I hope your neighbors don't live too close by. Get yourself a PDW/PCC. Something like the Grand Power Stribog, or maybe the CZ Scorpion, if you wanna go less expensive, I've heard really good things about the Ruger PC Charger. PSA also makes a litany of ar and ak pattern 9 mil pistols that are very reliable. Now, having said all that, PPC's really do kind of exist on the edge of legality, so you might want to get something with a 16 inch barrel, which PSA and numerous other companies can also facilitate. Get yourself some hollow points, +p if your gun is rated for it, and have a few mags of those ready to go for home defense, and then use fmj's for your range time.
Thanks for your info Aioli, but I went with the SW M&P Sport part deux. Don’t plan on using for the house, just seemed like a nice option for near that price point.
Some people take issues with Rick but I love my Hinderers. Well made and don't break the bank. Or maybe they do, it's been a few years since I paid any attention to the knife market and prices. TYdeFan05 is likely more up to date on things. I find ZT's to be a good value, don't remember what model mine is but I carry/use it enough it looks like shit and has held up quite well.
I've noticed ammo starting to sit on shelves, with any luck prices will start to drop. If we have the recession everyone is talking about there should be some good deals to be had. That ZEV I bought earlier this year is pretty sweet, the recoil is not as soft as something like the Staccato XC but it's still really flat shooting. Picked up some Glock mags for it since it runs on those too. The Magpul mags it comes with are trash, lightweight which is nice but plastic feed lips. Speaking of magazines I ordered nearly $1,000 worth, we have our mag ban coming up in few months. I bought a bunch of shit I don't even own guns to just in case I get those guns at a later date. I don't load my magazines beyond 10 to begin with when target practicing regardless of their capacity. There's no changing my mind or going back after July so I figured I'd just be stocked with everything and not worry about it.
Just came in to mention ammo. Haven’t been to the range in awhile and need some 9mm range ammo. Only finding prices at roughly 40 cents a round.
