I would be too, I believe we are well past that, but I can only tell myself "they wanted this guy more" so many times.
Yeah, something happened, guy on BGI said something about 247 not buying that he is out yet? Who the hell knows? The way this thing has gone our beat dudes may have claimed he was the guy purely because he was the only interview to that point. It's seeming more and more like they don't yet have the sources they had under Kelly.
Outbid plus he didn’t love the idea of not being able to hire his own staff. This was always the problem with Swarbrick wanting to keep everyone together and do it his way. It has its upside certainly, but it isn’t without its downside. If I was an established DC, I’d want autonomy in picking my staff too.
Makes a lot of sense, being told "these are your guys" kind of sucks, especially for an established guy.
Reading between the lines on Elston, he also wanted to set up his kids for success. He wanted them to attend ND. He didn’t want them to attend LSU. Michigan is also a fantastic landing spot for them. In short, lol Brian Kelly
We are losing sleep over the guy that could only produce one first round DL in 11 years at ND? The same school that has had the likes of Alan Page, Ross Browner, Bryant Young, Justin Tuck, and John Ryan? Good riddance
I think we’re now most upset about losing someone like Keeley and Vernon. Keeley could be a future 1st rounder
Salerno has a scholarship for next year. Good for him and WOPU but numbers keep seeming like a challenge.
Guys. Numbers always work themselves out. Always. Chill folks and let's allow things to unfold in due time. See Foskey's tweet today if you need further assurances.
Keely is gonna get NIL bags dropped on him this summer, always was going to be a really tough keep Vernon isn’t going anywhere let’s be honest
I think his scholarship is for spring only. Every scholarship is annual. Now since enough people have left you can go back up to 85 in spring
He also can theoretically work in Ann Arbor and live in South Bend if his family didn’t want to move/still go to ND.
Devil’s Advocate…Keeley was/is never more than a soft commit and was always going to be a kid we would have to fight for to Signing Day. This doesn’t change that
ND has paid him enough that his daughters can be the first class to use the Mike and Beth Elston Fencing Arena.
Ok. Losing Elston sucks full stop. I'm not gonna try to spin it as a positive. But let me tell you why this might be a good thing (slight sarcasm). Getting a DC maybe a bit easier considering he will at least get to possibly being 1 guy with him. So having said that here is my personal wish list of DCs 1. Zack Arnett-Miss State 2. Tressel-Cincy 3. Belk-Houston 4. Nate Woody-Army 5. Mason-Auburn (not high on him as DC but as someone who can bring value to program/MF).
But you finally vanquished your abuser; get your lily-white asses back in the public sphere and talking shit.
Post your comments and questions in the "Is Harbaugh worth $9M thread". It's about to be relevant again.
There has to be something wild going on for UW to fire him that quickly and simply pay him out without even going for cause.
still, he was a good DC and is a great recruiter, would bring some experience, think hed be an awesome fit
DL coach list according to Loy. This is pretty sad. If it comes from these 4 I think I’d prefer to roll the dice with Larry Black Al Washington (formerly of Ohio State) Greg Scruggs (Cincinnati) Larry Black (Vanderbilt) Eli Rasheed (Iowa State)
