I’m going through being a lifelong ucla fan. As down as I am I’m not going east of the 405 for some ass.
Member when people thought UCLA was holding out on firing him because his buyout would significantly drop after something like January 15th. I member.
You must have been dreaming because that never actually happened and no one actually said that. It was mentioned but no one said that’s what we were waiting for. If Azz was still the DC I think he would be getting fired. I think that was a bigger issue holding up negotiations.
that the buyout went to zero:yes. that it was what we were waiting for and that he be fired after it went to zero : no.
Sure, but it's not good for CFB or a lot of these coaches in the end, IMO. And at least Lupoi has a DC title to his role that could potentially lead to something more for him in the future.
Hawaii had some major violations in basketball a few years back and in the NCAA's infractions report it said there were key department staff members who weren't willing to speak to each other. Like no communication between head basketball coach and the head of various departments. Sounds like a wonderful culture that AD has cultivated

Chip is 2-22 at UCLA against teams that finish with winning records. 6-7 LSU, 6-7 Hawai'i, 5-7 Cal, 4-8 USC, 4-8 Washington, 4-8 Colorado, 3-9 Stanford, and 1-11 Arizona had strong supporting roles in his breakthrough 8-4 season.
recruiting is non existent. We’re hemorrhaging depth. Lost like 3 -4 coaches. It is easier to just say we are a dumpster fire.
Hard to tell if he’s a good coach. OL has been a mixed bag, but there’s been a lot of flukey injuries and COVID absences the past two years. He’s a good recruiter
