it’s just baffling to me that we waiting until now to do this- same thing with the tests what in the f
Learned of a Friday exposure on...monday morning when the daycare was full of sniffles. Now my 3 year old and 6 month old both have cold symptoms. My 3 year old had a pcr test yesterday morning, but they're so backlogged that they can't turn them around in 24 hours. Fun times
right. Just going off the florida hospital association numbers for the state. Hopefully it’s accurate and trending in the right direction
So, we've got horsepaste eaters, piss drinkers, peroxide huffers, and people downing gender modifiers for off label use? Idiocracy is a documentary.
daughter just popped positive. Her employer went to the 5 day and she thinks the guy returning to work was still contagious. She's vaxed and boosted

In at least one hospital in Houston, unvaxxed covid patients are considered higher risk, and therefore are positioned to receive more acute care, as resources get stretched and there's a stratification to levels of care received and staffing provided. I understand some people are unable to or advised not to get the vaccine for legitimate reason, but I feel like the antivaxxers should definitely not be getting better care, if there is any prioritization taking place
Florida Department Of Health Confirms Dr. Raul Pino Put On Leave For Encouraging Orange County Department Of Health Employees To Get Vaccinated https://www.wmfe.org/pino-put-on-le...-of-health-employees-to-get-vaccinated/195298
For just ENCOURAGING? Just nuke Florida already, holy christ. I don't think they'd suspend anyone for just that here in Georgia.
That is the equivalent of Walmart firing cashiers for ringing up budget priced goods. FFS, the job description for all employees is in the title, Dept of Health. This pandemic has made it crystal clear that partisan politics will be the death of this country.
DeSantis’s entire identity is to do the opposite of what is suggested out of Washington. it’s exhausting
We need the anti-Vax tax like Canada. If your selfishness is going to cause more people harm then you should have to pay more the the care that it’s going to take to keep you alive.
Smoking tax, obese tax, drug use tax, alcoholism tax. All of those users require more resources over the course of a lifetime than a one-time COVID infection.
I’m going to ignore the first part about taxing the poor into oblivion but instead want to address your second bit considering there are multiple people in this thread who have had it more than once? Is the one time infection thing a passage from the Church of Tucker Carlson?
99.9% of chuds would never accept the consequences of their own decisions. let their child get type 1 diabetes and see their social media posts about how expensive care is and watch them beg for crowdfunded money.
“my selfish unvaccinated patriot husband died a preventable Covid death leaving behind 4 children please give me money”
What’s the general feeling of this thread on if this wave of omicron is the beginning of the end of the pandemic.
Let’s leave the racist on ignore, folks. I guarantee you that you are not obligated to engage with a fleshy cowardly mass of barely-sentient, right-wing delusion.
Hard to be more transmissible than omicron though, I believe the only virus more transmissible is measles?
I think the hope is the more transmissible the variants are the weaker they become, but I’m famously not a doctor or even known as being particularly smart.
yea that’s basically the morphing of viruses as I understand it, not to say it’ll happen like that but omicron seems to fit that criteria of highly transmissible and weaker. and again the caveat like you said as I’m not a virologist.
Personal difference of opinion but compared to delta it seems significantly weaker at this point, I haven’t seen any IFR’s from omicron and it’s probably early for that.
I don’t watch the news. Obviously people have caught Covid twice, meant a severe infection that would cause hospitalization twice. That has to be such a crazy small percentage of people.
