https://www.astorwines.com/SpiritsS...ed&searchtype=Contains&term=&cat=2&style=2_32 Find something for me. What’s the consensus on the High Wire Jimmy Red stuff?
I'd go with the Elijah Craig Store Pick , Widow Jane 10 year, or Smoke Wagon UU even though that price is a bit high
Saw this bottle when I was at Benash and was tempted. Let me know when you open it that I made a mistake!
It’s really good, I got a sampler of it a little before Christmas. The bourbon tastes young but the rye is great
What are you guys thoughts on Booker's? Is it worth the price? I see it around and see some speak highly of it but it's quite pricey for a 6-7 year old bourbon.
I thnk it's fun to collect them. Each is unique, and each is anywhere from good to great depending on the blend (and how much you like the beam profile.) I've got seven of them, four open. If collecting, tasting, comparing is your thing, then it's probably the easiest series to get regularly.
Haven't had a ton of Beam. I found Bakers 7 to be fairly underwhelming. At least the bottle j had. I'm sure there can be quite a bit of variation since it's single barrel.
yeah never see that here. instead, saw some lady grinning like a pig in shit walking out with a bottle of jim beam from a costco liquor store yesterday.
PA had a hell of a drop today and the site completely ate shit. One of my checkouts took 2 hours of refreshing to go through. cleaned up though!
This is just my store across the street. They are good to me about the mid level allocated stuff. My guy admits to keeping the 1-2 really good bottles he gets annually, but the rest is fair game. That leaves me in a pretty easy situation for Weller, Smokewagon UU, some Michter’s, etc. Nothing special, but better than most.
That’s awesome. Ohio has had shit lately. Kentucky gets all the good stuff but you usually will have to pay.
Once a month they do a big online drop and the site is almost useless and you have to hope for the best
Yes I wound up with a Stagg Jr and an OF11 and I feel like I lost compared to you fuckers. Fortunately Detlef Schrempf was nice enough to trade me for his Weller SiB, considering I lost one of those and a W12 when my card got rejected because it had a fraud freeze on it.
I don't know, that OF is pretty damn good. Heard this years Stagg Jr is a bit hotter than most years but I haven't had it.
I don't even think it comes to my state. If it does it never makes it to retail. But I've had a pour. It is excellent.
