I never said they'd do that. They had a good year and I think that can be repeated through heavy annual portaling, which won't require a ton of player development. Lane will always be attractive to transfers.
Half of CFB had openings this year, and he's still at Ole Miss. Could be that every AD that was hiring didn't want to deal with whatever drama he brings, but at some point, I think the conventional thinking that he's obviously looking for a "better" job becomes more suspect.
Corral was fairly unique talent and took a ridiculous amount of punishment all season. I think it'd be fair to expect Kiffin to show he can do okay without Corral before he gets a big job.
Preparing for his inevitable return to the Raiders. No one loves rehiring old coaches as much as the Raiders.
he's been trying to leave Oxford since he got there, no one is touching him. will be fun to watch him without Lebby
Does anyone know what happened with tyron carrier? Wr coach that left wvu for Houston then got abruptly fired last offseason and still hasn’t been hired anywhere. He was a good coach
Lebby called plays this year? The mystique around him is so weird, he never called plays at UCF so it's not like he's some savant that makes his baggage worth it.
if you don't care about silly things like winning a lot and going to other bowl games then I would take Hawaii in a fucking heartbeat as a coach because when you're done coaching for the day you're not going back to some McMansion neighborhood, you're in Hawaii. I'm not a greedy dude, I wouldn't need 7 mil to convince me to stay in whatever ramshackle shithole city in the South is trying to hire me, you give me a mil or two and every day I'm not coaching I can be on the beaches of Hawaii and we're gucci.
Coaches barely have a life and while living in Hawaii would be cool you're also on a way different time zone than a lot of the players you're recruiting. It's just always amusing when people act like coaches are done at 5 on weekdays and have weekends off to enjoy the town or whatever.
the Hawaii AD was in front of the state senate two weeks ago talking about his confidence in graham and the direction of the program. and now this. i wonder if he'll survive the weekend
People act like recruiting to Hawaii is easy. They have all this and also their stadium was condemned. Also they charge like $70/game to watch on PPV on the island while the rest of us can stream it on a barely-above-bootleg app for free. It's impressive there's enough post-pandemic money to keep this thing alive.
IIRC they only do official visits if a guy is committed or basically a lock to commit. There's a reason why they relied heavily during their "glory years" on jucos.
I mean, Hawaii isn't Alabama, I'm pretty sure June Jones punched out each day long before Nick did. coaches work weird hours, I grasp this concept, but do you grasp the concept of working said hours in Athens or Columbus or Clemson compared to Honolulu?
Hawaii is like the absolute perfect job for a guy like graham, it’s honestly incredibly impressive he fucked it up so badly so quickly
They can’t really afford to fire people and there’s 0 Expectations, if he’s gonna have a head coaching job that was probably perfect for him
Wasn't trying to come off like a dick but they're all psychopath liars (aka recruiting) who work 24/7. Sure the view is better when you're driving home but it ain't exactly cheap to live there plus I'm sure the salaries are terrible relative to other programs.
What did Addazio do? Other than being a shitty OC I don't remember him getting into trouble for anything.
