Ybor one for the reasons DuffandMuff said, plus walking distance to meal options, mainly breakfast/coffee. Also I kind of agree that Berns isn't a MUST DO for a bachelor party weekend.
Bruins are at Tampa Bay on April 8 which is the Friday that we'll be there. Sounds like a no brainer. Smash some beers at the game and watch some hockey.
if you stay at the Ybor house, you can take the trolley directly to the arena. I think it's like $2 free
RJF-GUMP while you can't really go wrong with either, I'm firmly in the camp of the Ybor VRBO over the Epicurean
Me too. Would rather have a house to ourselves than 2 hotel rooms with double queen beds. Pressuring the best man to book this thing today or this week at the latest.
Yep. Nothing better than a house full of your friends. Can pass out on couch, on back porch, on bathroom floor etc much better than hotels where you don’t have common area like a house
I love getting houses always over hotels. Always end up being way more fun. Would even rather get a house with in laws for vacation over hotel
Hell yeah. Pre game drinks in Ybor. Or you can go to American Social, which is walking distance to the arena. Big bar on the water with a full menu. I haven’t lived in tampa in over three years. Looks like fergs is gone? Cuban coffee and cigars in ybor.
I went a month ago. It was fine. The fried rice was really good. Everything was mediocre. It’s not on par with Ichicoro.
Chicken wings were awful. Rice was fine. Gnocchi was as fine. Took some people out there was actually embarrassed I brought them there.
wonder if the chicken shortage has anything to do with quality? I haven’t been, but I heard it was good from people who went in the past. I can’t imagine those guys knowingly having subpar food
went once. Really enjoyed it and would go back again for a special occasion. Too pricey for a random Friday night date night.
I agree. Food was great. We only go on 4-5 nice dinner date nights a year so i I was ok with paying for it since we could sit outside. My wife still won’t eat inside due to Covid.
Two weeks till Gasparilla, feels like 5 years since the last one in Jan 2020. Sounds like I've got a decent spot not far from Bayshore just hope covid cases have peaked.
Think we'll still be peaking then, but starting to come down. But at this point, I'm of the mindset that covid is here to stay. So as long as I continue to update my boosters and mask up during spikes, I'm going to enjoy life.
I've been. It's good but there are a dozen other places that are just as good in Tampa that aren't as expensive.
I haven't been out to Gasparilla in years but we have a lot of neighbors that just moved to Tampa in the last 2 years so we're going out with them. Think TYCC in the morning then bought tickets to hang out at Junior League on Davis Island.
I agree. Over priced but it had outside seating and we could get a reservation at a normal time. My wife still will only eat out if we can sit outside.
Gonna be outside like 99% of the time and for better or worse (disgusting porta potties) no poorly ventilated bathrooms like at a football game. Hopefully the weather cooperates.
Saturday high is 51 with 18mph winds. My wife bought tickets with everyone in our neighborhood for a catered event at Junior League. This is going to be awful.
We’re going to Legoland for my sons birthday Saturday. 51 walking around a park doesn’t sound too bad.
Haha we went for his 4th birthday and he loved it. He will be 6 and you're right. This is probably the last time.
Wish there was more to do. So much closer than the other parks. We took lil lawnole and he was like it was fun but I would rather go to Univeral so that's the end of Legoland for us.
Definitely agree on not as many rides. We just bought skip the line passes and will likely do everyone twice.
40 mph gusts tomorrow. I have Covid so won’t be doing shit. Pretty excited to not be standing for hours in that cold and wind.
