new CFP committee chair Boo Corrigan is brother of ND lacrosse's head coach (Kevin) and former ND AD Gene.
He grew up an Ohio State fan, but they haven’t given him much attention at all. I don’t think it’s necessarily a Vizzina situation where the second his favorite school offers, he’ll immediately commit. But from all reports, if Ohio State starts to pursue him seriously all bets are off.
Notre Dame hired Brian Kelly in December of 2009, and he held the position of head coach for the Fighting Irish until November of 2021. In all of that time, Kelly never once stepped foot at DeMatha Catholic, one of the premier football powerhouses on the East Coast and a strong profile school for Notre Dame. Freeman has been on the job for less than two months and will have been at DeMatha already
Feel like Bama has dominated the DeMatha pipeline for the past decade. They seemingly get a couple top 100kids from there every few cycles.
Honestly I was just thinking about this, too. I’m sure he went to some but I really can’t think of any standing out and definitely nothing consistent. Christ, Saban was just at Arch’s basketball game.
by the way, if you told me a month and a half ago that both my football teams wouldve had new coaches i think i wouldve given you 50-1 odds
Loy said he believes it will either be Golden or Rossi (MN DC) as of today....I like either guy so it's win win for me either way
So Golden would provide recruiting connections to both the East Coast and South Florida right? That would balance well with what we've added in Texas. That plus adding an experienced voice to a young staff makes him an attractive option.
Also sounds like Michigan's DC is going to be the DC of the Ravens Elston either getting a pretty great look as DC at Michigan or could be out of a job in a bit lol
fair enough, although I didn't think that was common for assistant coaches, or that public universities could play those games.
If Elston takes over as DC, we laugh because it won’t go well If he doesn’t get the job, we laugh because he got passed over again when that is why he left Win-win
ND fans better not get too excited if below is truly your only options And Bryan Driskell of Sports Illustrated’s Irish Breakdown reported that Lukabu is one of four finalists for the position, along with Cincinnati Bengals linebackers coach Al Golden (former Miami head coach from 2011-15), Houston DC Doug Belk and Minnesota DC Joe Rossi.
I hadn't really looked much at on3 yet, but kind of liking the prospect breakdown for each player, down to things like NIL potential. I realize that this is probably inaccurate/useless info, but still kind of a cool wrinkle that I'm sure they'll continue to refine. https://www.on3.com/db/jaylen-sneed-58975/
With all these tweets after visits you have to think that ND’s recruiting department is asking these coaches and administrators to make a big deal on social media
I don’t think so. They just do, but we never saw it bc BK wasn’t going out there. Every time I click on one of these tweets and go back or forward a few tweets, there’s 2 or 3 with another HC out there (for example, Ryan day was there just before freeman).
