BK always had the rule that he had to see QBs throw in person before he’d ever offer them. It’s why we would generally limit our search to and settle on kids that camped at ND. You can’t have that stance and then refuse to travel to see kids in person. You’re immediately limiting your talent pool unnecessarily if that’s your MO.
Wisconsin's AD said this afternoon there is an "exciting development to be announced for Badgers football in the next week." Either a massive troll or they may be pulling this off.
ND with another nice league win at home over NCST. They are playing real well right now. Keep stacking 'em.
When they can weather a down offensive performance from Wesley like that (at least in terms of efficiency; still ended with 15) with two of the old guys stepping up big they may have the making of a team that could shoot well through an ACC tournament and somehow win. If Wesley is not on this team Goodwin is getting much more praise. He’s having a sneaky great season.
ND had a few players on the PFF top 10 returners IOL1: Patterson OT Watch List: Blake Fisher TE2: Michael Mayer Edge8: Isaiah Foskey Safety4: Brandon Joseph Not bad
So important he posts a pic of Kelly in his ND gear because there is no chance he will visit him in person.
Mike frank is so bad at his job, he went on a rant about prevent defenses in his latest podcast and he was talking about the nfl games. Freeman or the other guy kind of corrected him in saying that tampa was in zero coverage when they let the big play that killed them happened. He has a few narratives that he just throws out there without even looking at the games. That’s why I always followed d3. At least he works at it
From Sampson’s article: “ Hiestand’s former offensive linemen laugh that it can sound like a cult when they talk about their former coach. And they talk about their former coach a lot, including in a text chain that stretches from Zack Martin to Liam Eichenberg. The group is already talking about returning to campus to work with Hiestand during spring practice or summer recruiting. As much as Hiestand has been there for them, the group is eager to be there for their former coach at the place that molded so many of them into NFL offensive linemen. “It’s just gonna be like old times when we were in college,” McGlinchey said. “Harry brought Zack, Ronnie, Nick back to coach camps when we were being recruited. That’s gonna be restored. It’s the pride of the Notre Dame offensive line. That’s what Harry’s always brought. That’s probably never gonna go away again, as long as he’s the guy in charge.” I’m guessing we will see a big OL cruit weekend in the spring- something really cool with all the dogs on campus like Q, Martin, Stanley, Mcglinchey etc. There’s a plan here as to why ND is playing this close to the vest
my wife made chicken sausage alfredo for dinner tonight. this is weird. I guess she is going to be in the basement breaking down film all weekend.
D3 has seriously been breaking down Baylor all 22 film to determine if Stuckey is good. I respect the grind but that's a lot.
The thing is that it’s not a grind to him. His passion for the game is obvious. He loves doing those breakdowns.
I enjoy it but the guy is not normal. He really talks like someone that spends 12 hours a day in the basement watching football games.
I think he has found a cool niche and seems to be having some success you don't hire people without making $$. Watching film/talking ND football for a living doesn't sound half bad.
Anyone interested, local news just teased a Today show piece airing this morning on Bettis coming back to school. Should be solid ND propaganda.
His last podcast talking Harry Hiestand and bringing in Alex Bars was really good. - Simply getting a guy like Bars on the show clearly shows these guys respect him. And there’s a reason he has so many good sources in and around the program. - Breaking down the technical aspects of the film from when Harry was the coach is a level of analysis no other writer on our beat can provide. We don’t always have to agree with what he says, but he can diagnose problems on the field given his knowledge of the game better than the other guys we get news and analysis from. - He clearly puts the work in. The amount of content he’s pumping out - and the amount of data and film mining he’s doing to create that content - is exemplary. His personality is certainly grating at times and you need to take some things he says with a massive grain of salt or roll of the eyes (the good news here is he’s so transparent about it, it’s easy to decipher when), but he clearly knows football and loves what he does. He’ll never be able to wax poetic around storylines and narratives like Sampson does, but if what you’re looking for is hardcore football analysis, he’s clearly the best on NDs beat.
Fair analysis. If there wasn't a skip forward button, I couldn't listen. He regularly utilizes self aggrandizing bloviations but he makes it obvious when it's coming. The only thing that would make it easier is if he literally said "I'm gonna shoehorn a few more pats on my back into the conversation here so go ahead and hit that skip :30 button a few times if you start feeling nauseous."
Everytime he starts talking about the play Von Miller made against Tom Brady in the Super Bowl, I hit the 30 sec skip button.
