Starting to consider whether I should go home now instead of waiting for more snow and traffic. Didn't realize it was going to snow all day.
So I have very little belief this happens, but some long range models are showing this time next week could be brutal, with a shit ton of rain Wednesday turning into a shit ton of snow on Thursday.
Seems like the biggest unknown is what happens to the moisture on Thursday...6"+ on Wednesday seems to be a given But yeah we won't know shit really until Tuesday
What’s the best site/group to follow for weather here? It’s my first snow storm since moving this way.
Here are some decent Fb pages if you haven't cut it yet: https://www.facebook.com/groups/mskywarn https://www.facebook.com/MISnowFreaks https://www.facebook.com/MeteorologistAhmadBajjey
Team Kevin Jeanes and Dave Rexroth. rv12 I think I asked you before, but you’re in Detroit? Moved here from CLT?
Seems like it turned to snow from rain later than expected, which might drop total snowfall below "storm of the decade" levels.
It's been snowing consistently in Ann Arbor for about 6-7 hours, but lightly. Maybe 4-5" if I had to guess. May drive down to the Wings game tonight since this turned out to be a dud of a storm.
I walked through our neighborhood and it definitely feels like 7-8". Wonder how long it will take me to get to the airport for an 8am flight. Normally 40 minutes, so I may budget an hour and a half.
Fun part of driving around after a storm in Michigan is getting to see what municipalities handle the snow and which dont. The freeways were hit and miss, but it only took an extra 5-10 minutes to get to DTW.
Going to a show at the Royal Oak theatre. Any recommendations for what to do for dinner and breakfast the next morning in that area?
I love Iron Horse. It’s literally right next door to the theater but you need to make recommendations because it isn’t a huge place.. D’Amatos is a great spot too, right in the same area. Also next door to the theater is Ronin which is a good sushi restaurant. For breakfast, there is a good crepe place (Le Crepe) in that same area. If you want a diner type spot, Coco Fairfield’s in Berkley is my go to place. That’s ten minutes away.
Is the pizza from Como's in Ferndale any good? In other news, I'm excited for some snow to melt, but I'm tired of the 2 coldest days every week being Saturday and Sunday.
I should have tagged DeToxRox with that. I forget which of the rest of you hipsters would know about pizza in Ferndale.
Haven’t been there since the ownership change but I hear it’s better. The old owners were awful people who let that place rot from the inside.
Took this last night for the poster that wanted to try the Three Pigs at Amici’s. So good. Lip was it you?
