Not listening to a 9:43 video from that moron. Can you tell me at what points he brings up bow hunting elk and taking DMT?
It’s actually a better response than I was expecting. Not great, and quite awkward but hey he kind of acknowledges having a bunch of fringe personalities on without balancing them probably isn’t in anyone’s best interest.
Him proclaiming a cardioligist as "The most published in the history of his field" when that guy has self published all of his bullshit, is fucking stupid. Also, speaking of the other guy as the pioneer of mRNA vaccines that is responsible for everything to do with the current vaccine when he was last credible in the fucking 80s is absurd as fuck, as well.
This may be a dumbass statement - but why don't more experts go on the platform, He seems pretty open to having anyone - dude last week called him out to his face and he admitted he was wrong.
Dude points out those docs are highly credentialed and all but one is a cardiologist. If he was discussing hearts and how to diagnose or help with a patient’s cardiac output, that would be the guy. Rogan clearly isn’t a fan of vaccines or the current path the cdc and their ilk suggest and that to me is a bias. When you interview peoples with your bias you get an agenda.
I don't know his team - I'm under the impression that it's pretty open ended and anyone that is a person that will provide an interesting conversation will likely be approved.
At this point I don't think reasonable people want to go on his pod. What once was fun cheeky show has become an alt-right, agenda driven interview. Joe is making a killing from chuds and he knows it and is playing to it. And because of that I doubt he's really looking to interview people that tell his audience to just look up. He may a have few here and there but isn't going to seek them out.
Dude had Bernie and Andrew Yang on - I feel like any politician that wanted to go on the show would have access - they just don't want to. Which is fine.
Actually now that I think of it - has a republican politician ever been on the show? That's not making a Stan point for Rogan, I just can't remember one.
I can't recall either. I can only remember democrat candidates leading up to the 2020 elections. He's had a few republican politicians on, but none who were running for president.
This is untrue, Rogan said basically every democratic candidate requested to go on and he declined all but Bernie and Yang. Interestingly enough neither see themselves as democrats.
This is a great example because this interview was fundamentally different from every interview I've ever seen him do. He went Shapiro debate mode and treated him as an adversary.
The problem with Rogan having the reach he does isn't just that he's unqualified to speak authoritatively about things like covid, it's that he's unqualified to even host a show about serious subjects period. He doesn't have a fundamental understanding of things like cognitive bias. He doesn't know how to think. He has no idea how his own mind works. So he needs to take a bite of humility and stick to his D- fart jokes.
He reaches a lot of people and isn’t an aggressive or try to trip you up interviewer. Think lots of politicians on both sides would like to or have tried to be in his show.. I was curious what guest he has had on recently with the Young stuff.. saw a carrot top episode and couldn’t resist since Carrot Top for years has been the punching bag for comedians and jokes at his expense…. Wasn’t much to it and very little political talk which was nice. Rogan did refer to himself as an old school liberal and compared himself to Bill Maher. Whatever that means… I don’t think Joe knows what he is and I think he is easily influenced and driven by greed.
The Joe Rogan video tells me one thing, Spotify is feeling the pressure. Remember, this is the same person who tweeted out an article about myocarditis in an attempt to support his claim in his previous podcast after a doctor on his show told him he was wrong and after his research guy on his show linked an article showing the doctor was right
he in no way admitted he was wrong. He kept saying he read it differently elsewhere then attacked the source and stood by his stance
The "democrat" that introduced bills to ban abortion and ban Trans women from athletics? The one that was on Hannity to voice her negative opinion of BBB?
I'll be surprised if he doesn't have Sinema on so his right leaning fans can have another "democrat" to point to in showing has balanced he is.
With the Bernie being the exception, do you find it curious that the only dems or left leaning people (however you want to categorize them) he has on are the ones that have been accepted by the right in some fashion? Not a single person that challenges his/ or the right wing populists narrative or policies
He sort of did this with Vijaya Gadde, Jack Dorsey, and Tim Pool (yet another dipshit in a long line of them).
What left wing, personality or political person that is not endorsed by the right would you like to see go on the show?
anyway when someone is going down this path of normalizing Rogan doing the 'just asking questions' routine you flip it. FourClover01 how do you feel about Rogan being a conspiracy theorist for basically his entire adult life and amongst the first listeners of Alex Jones? How does this inform your opinion of him, if at all?
The thing is that it’s not even like having a lefty politician on Rogan would matter. He’d agree with a ton of the shit they say then have somebody like Ben Shapiro on next and agree with his bullshit. Rogan doesn’t know what he believes and mostly avoids challenging guests. It’s not that he’s got a strongly held belief to challenge aside from his bro science medical shit. It’s that he’s platforming white supremacists, grifters, and wackos to 11 million people. He should stop.
I dont watch a ton of Hasan, but he'd be an awful choice. He's very good w theory, but he's a spaz and too much of a drama queen lately. I watched parts of when he had Hershel Walker's kid on. I knew what he was going for w a lot of his points, but he made terrible arguments for them. He'd let Rogan take him on a meandering goal post shifting side track I think Sam Seder would be very good. Adam Johnson, Mehdi Hassan, Ryan Grim, any of the hosts of 5-4, Jerusalem Demsas, Jason Kandor. That's just off the top of my head. However, I doubt some would agree to go on
Sam Seder would be awesome. I love how he breaks down issues with stupid callers that likely fall into the Rogan demo
Agree. He even admitted in his video earlier that he doesn't do any research. He just books people and then has a conversation. When they say some insane shit, he's not prepared to question it. I get that makes for a listen as it's someone learning about a subject, but that makes the gust list suoer important. You can't have Alex Jones and Jordan Peterson on to spew their shit when you're not prepared to question their bullshit. You just can't. You're giving a megaphone to literal white supremacists. He also admitted that he does his own booking to he's kinda telling on himself that he wants to talk to those people. He wants to talk to Alex Jones. That's all you need to know.
Who’s the left populist in MO that’s running for Senate? I would listen to Rogan interview him He has had Kulinski on, Ball on, Yglesias (utterly uninteresting interview with zero chemistry).
Im unaware of the candidate youre mentioning. I havent really paid much attention to the dem side because it doesnt really matter who it is. They will get crushed. Kyle and Krystal are both morons, and closer to Jimmy Dore than an actual thoughtful left wing guest
I honestly mostly don’t think Rogan has bad intentions aside from the cancel culture shit. He’s just a really dumb guy who got a huge following for pioneering a format and being decent at conversations. Imagine the likable underachiever in high school who had a good memory but barely graduated and works at the muffler shop in your hometown. That’s Rogan.
I think we need to hang up this idea that more ______ should go on Rogan. In the covid realm, having Osterholm on just confuses people when he has those other quacks on after. Builds this fictitious false equivalence that "oh hey I heard both Osterholm and Malone on the same show these guys must have equally qualified information." Exacerbated the fact that JR has absolutely zero clue how to sniff out a con artist, or how to tell who is and isn't qualified (see his absolutely hilarious, ridiculous belief that that cardiologist is "top of his field"). Honestly, my 3 year old could vet viewpoints better than him. Rogan is dangerously, recklessly out of his league unless we're talking stand-up or competitive camel dick eating. I don't think having the occasional Osterholm on has done anything for his audience but erroneously bolster JR and his other grifter guest's credibility.
