It’s pretty awesome from my very amateur point of view. Until last week we just had like a Chicago cutlery set or something, so it feels super sharp and the materials feel premium. I can also feel the weight of the knife helping the cut, which I had not really experienced with cheap knives. We went with the Santoku rather than the European chef knife because it seemed to fit what we do a little better. Got the paring knife too. The closest thing I can compare it to is when I get a high quality Japanese saw/saw blade and you can just kind of tell that the steel is very good by the way it sounds.
Better price than I expected too. I have ok knives that I can reason replacing, looks like they may get some business.,
Have a couple of sheet pans and they've held up really well. Can't speak to the rest of the line but I'd bet it's passable, or better, unless they only have expertise in sheet pans.
this interest me because I want to update our entire line when we move back to Nebraska. My wife was against it till she had to try to cook a grilled cheese at an Airbnb on the cheapest of pans and it was the worst. so now I’m looking at them or a number of others to get a full stainless steal set.
I’ve had HexClad sauté pans & wok for close to a year. They’ve performed great. My only complain is that they stain / discolor easily, You’ll want to grab some Bartenders’ Friend
Victorinox Fibrox knives are made in Switzerland. Most of the knife makers I’ve asked said that’s what they use in their kitchens.
I want to start a campaign against clothiers that make button down shirts with horrible collars. The best way I can describe it is even without buttoning the top button the collar is very "closed" and "nerdy" looking/constricted. It almost looks like you have buttoned the top button even when you haven't. Many other brands have this issue as well. I think I'd have to iron the collar back so that it doesn't wrap around my neck or basically poke me in the neck/chin. Does anyone else hate this? I have an otherwise good looking Orvis shirt on right now with this exact issue. I've run into it with Southern Marsh shirts as well.
Does anyone have this? Granted it's pretty expensive but it looks like a great addition to a new home. Basically you buy pods that have premixed drinks and it mixes it with the liquors/water to make a variety of drinks. Thoughts?
I have to pay $370 for the mixer, $2.50 per capsule, and I still have to buy the liquor separately? Hard pass.
Jokes aside, I don't blame you. I'm straight whiskey 99% of the time personally but would probably throw in a cocktail occasionally if not for all the components/effort they require.
Yeah, if I had a dollar for every time I found a drink I've wanted but didn't have [Insert Curacao/vanilla/bitters/orange juice/lime/mint/etc here] I'd have enough to pay for the stupid machine already
I just buy the ingredients assuming I'll use them again but rarely do. I have a 15 year old bottle of banana liqueur I think sitting collecting dust with bottles of Peychaud's, St Germain, rosemary syrup, etc etc so while it might not ever pay for itself in my case it would probably save room in the liquor cabinet
We had the same, eventually just got rid of almost all of it. Filled up recycling like 5 different times.
I love that he has his affiliate links underneath if you somehow still want it after that review (I just skimmed through but he's obviously not a fan)
Karate Champ or Double Play: Super Baseball Homerun Derby. Also now that I know enough to wear a glove of some kind, Track & Field. (Not the one with the buttons to run, the one with the trac-ball.)
It would probably be one of the Mortal Kombats, one of the Street Fighters, or Killer Instinct for me.
