Listen to that scared fucking pig pant. The lack of training to deal calmly with stressful situations is one of the biggest problems with law enforcement. And it goes without saying but he made zero attempt to avoid hitting Bates with his SUV.
The first video made it seem like he intentionally ran dude down. Second video seem independent unless you knew it was a continuation. There is no defense of actions or training, if training is the excuse. Mowed him down, was still threatened, then made up excuses. At my best bootlicking, I'll listen to adrenaline excuses. He'd lose this one
I'll give him some credit for not wanting to do what it seems like he was programmed for. He fought it. But the programming is clear and fucked up, especially after
"Show me your hands!!!" says the guy that just literally ran over him, making it very difficult to move to show anything.
Really good episode of The Intercepted today. About the reformist police chief of Little Rock #Arkansas Razorbacks and the fight against him
he and the 1st AA mayor are having rough go of it, don't think either are too long in these positions sucks, as bertwing says LR is a shithole (politically)
This just happened in Nashville. Dude was chilling on a guardrail on the interstate, cop pulls over to offer a ride, somehow ends up in a standoff with the guy who had a boxcutter. You all know how this story ends.
What the fuck? He's 20 feet away and there's 20 cops. And 20+ shots? Seriously? And a lot of people will just be all "Well he should have complied!"
It's like the scene from narcos. Except the executioners outnumber the executed. By Richter scale proportions. It's fucking insane.
What's fucked up is watching that knowing how it's going to end. How do 50+ (including the ones on the opposite bound lane, and who knows how many unseen) police officers not have some sort of supervisor/leadership not see it coming, too? The only answer is that that is what they intended My thoughts is was a casting call to get a shot in
That video is murder. It's an execution. Lined up, aimed, coordinated. Not an ounce of de-escalation. We have jet packs delivering marines to ships. Even the most aspirational of you that enjoys your polarized lenses on ski trips, a result of military spending, cannot look at that and wonder if those trillions...TRILLIONS...Couldn't be more wisely spent. This video probably won't even be that widely seen. Of police murdering someone. Where do we start with that?
Aside from the obvious stuff like being murderers and racists, you shouldn’t be in that position if you can’t handle yourself 1 on 1 with a guy while wearing body armor and a taser.
Odds on Guy fucked his wife, they were lovers and it went south or he was gonna be outed for being gay.
The article went out of its way to not say the gender of the victim, not even a pronoun. Makes me think the being outed as gay thing could be it. Hope not, as that's not something that should have a negative connotation.
Which makes me remember that awful case from the same County where a woman allegedly shot herself in the head, but anyone with common sense knew the boyfriend (cop) shot her…. Documentary was great. “A murder in St Augustine” I think.
Media companies are so awful with allegedly. Did the punches not happen or were there no racial slurs? The allegedly placed where it is makes it look like the punching never happened.
pretty sure it's the legal system at large, innoncent until proven guilty type stuff. From what I can remember from the lawyers explaining on here not having that word opens people up to easy lawsuits down the road here is the language from the DA office in their press release on this incident about something literally caught on tape
I did a super quick Twitter search of “arrested” on CNN’s feed and nearly all of the posts had alleged in them. Looks like they do a pretty good job of making that standard. I’d venture to say that if we sampled all mainstream outlets there may be a different result.
I totally get that point and might have brain bias, but when talking about minority crimes I don’t recall the use of allegedly. I could be 100% wrong.
