Because she spurned his advances in person without his wife there. He’s covering his ass. This isn’t hard.
lol other than a 10 second conversation with Doakes where he says “it was one time and I told her right away” there is nothing to say Batista is a serial cheater. What is exactly is he covering his ass from? Flirting? I just watched the series again and there is nothing that points to Batista being a scum bag. You are holding on to a one time throw away line that is contradicted by 9 seasons. Batista is loyal and honest other than 1 off screen example. If he had multiple affairs cheated on multiple partners or even cheated multiple times I could see your point but it was literally one time and he confessed the next day.
covering his ass from what? What he is going to do, hand the phone to his wife and say “hey babe I flirted with this women” I cheated once 20 years ago but what?
Rewatched finale again and dislike it more than when I originally watched So the last scene they are trying to show Harrison isn’t like dexter by having him, uh, kill a murderer?
there is also no proof that he is actually married but maybe that’s what you mean. If so I could see that.
Still better than the original, but still felt the same as this. Everything Dexter had done throughout the series was for his own selfish benefit at the peril of others in his life. He had lived by a 'code' that he now himself fit, but the one life he couldn't take was his own. Instead, his last act was asking his son to become a killer instead. Although it would have came off as Breaking Bad-ish, having Harrison drop the gun and tell Dexter to do it himself would have been more appropriate.
I genuinely thought we were heading for a Sopranos style-ending there for a minute. Harrison freezing and looking like he wasn't going to pull the trigger as Bishop rolls up and then we fade to black. Then the explosive debate over whether Harrison killed him with her looking, Bishop took him into custody, Bishop says she'll drop any suspicion on him since she knows Kirk is a serial killer, Dexter kills himself, etc. etc. Tons of spinoff potential where they can essentially start from wherever fans deemed they wanted/thought it would go.
I remembered reading comments from the writer or director saying they were going to "make viewers brains explode" in the finale. I noticed there was about 20 minutes left and I realized a lot of really dumb shit had to happen soon. Not that I expected much as I basically hate-watched the last 3-4 seasons but the ending was so rushed and terrible. I would say the season was definitely a success as it gave us some of the stuff we used to enjoy but it also scratched the hate-watching itch and left you screaming at the TV. Good or bad I was interested in what was going to happen.
I didn’t say it was mine. I read it on Reddit also I didn’t remember the blood so obviously it doesn’t work. It was someone grasping at that not being the end imo
Lmao forgot about this. It was unfortunate the Bishop didn’t let her uncovering of Dexter as a serial killer ruminate more. It came out over several episodes but was kinda boring bc she kept it to herself. Where tf is Harrison gonna be able to go? They’ll be looking for Dexters truck. He’s a teenager and won’t get far.
You’re right about the truck, but he seems to be a pretty resourceful kid. He made his way from Argentina to upstate New York.
Rewatching the last 3 seasons of the original and yeah, Dexter is a selfish POS. The new season did a good job of building on that.
you equated being a pimp with something good I was just giving my opinion that individuals who prey on women shouldn’t be seen the way they are.
Don’t you know you can totally afford a sweet cabin in the woods working part time at a sporting goods store? Just like his dad.
you can 1. Allow me to express my opinion and let it go. or 2. turn it into something it doesn’t have to be. it isn’t like we are going to change our opinions. Pimps are vile human being. Equating them with anything good shouldn’t be done ever. If you disagree with that fine. We can move on or not up to you.
I gave an opinion. You guys can let me express that opinion and move on or you can choose to drag it out. Up to you guys.
Yeah we would prefer not to hear your virtue signaling over a joke in a thread about a serial killer tv show
Trying to remember the series arc. 1-3 are pretty solid, 4 peaks, then a lull…season 7 was a good rebound, then the disappointing ending of season 8. Does that sound about right? If I recall, the writer who left said his season 8 ending would’ve been dexter on the lethal injection table. Would’ve been better than how this recent 10 episodes ended but I still enjoyed this.
Just finished my rewatch and New Blood. Quinn was a more likeable character than I remembered. Mazuka did not hold up well at all
Lol. You can see him straddle the line between being a good vs bad cop. Didn't remember it like that. Bautista I liked better as well. He was the moral character on the show
Wish New Blood was longer. Didn't mind the ending, just think it needed to be 2-3 episodes longer to get there
the problem is that they knew this was the only season and didn’t “get there”. An extra couple of episodes wouldn’t have made a difference.
Finally finished it. I honestly expected to read there would be a second season when Batista said he was on his way. Thought it was a good mini series but the finale definitely sucked.
This was way better than I expected. Definitely a little rushed at the end, but a really solid season overall. I really enjoyed it.
Finally finished. Wasn't good but not has bad as seasons 5 or 8. Still enjoyed it because I'm a sucker for this show and characters. Will still argue with anyone season 4 is greatest season in TV history and seasons 1 and 2 aren't far behind either.
Killing Doakes was a mistake Picking up season 8 a couple months after Laguertta's death was dumb Season 4 ending was the most shocked Ive ever been watching TV. Just stared at my TV for a couple minutes I was so shocked. It also would make a fantastic series ending if they just stopped it there
That would've been the best stopping point but it's also the moment this show turned into a phenomenon and made Showtime no telling how much money. Killing Dexter at the end of 7 should've been how this series ended.
