I’m not sure and I’m not sure if it’s true but I’ve seen people talking about it on IG. Who knows. They were also bitching about the cerakote deadlift bar
I don’t think it really matters a ton. I think it *could* me less grippy but I don’t know if I fully believe that. I think a huge part of it is shitting the bed then going on IG to blame it on some thing other than themselves
Did hard cardio and back accessories this morning then a SBD tonight, that was really dumb and my body is absolutely broken.
I worked doubles to 365 and then singled at 385 and 405 and then hit 425, 435, 445, and finally started to stick a little at 455 so called it. Everything was moving great today. You love to see it.
I need to suck it up and start working on my bench and compete in a PL meet in addition to my oly stuff
I hadn’t trained using it without walking out so not much changed on that front. Those arms are thick and my hands almost got caught so I’d probably move the arms in next time and grip the bar outside of the books. Only issue there is the bottom of the hook could hit your arm.
I tried a new protein powder and holy shit… this stuff has given me the worst and most painful gas I’ve experienced. The first night I was googling appendicitis before I started farting and burping which brought some relief before it finally subsided after an hour of discomfort. I took Sunday off and then lifted today and shake afterward as usual, a couple hours later the rumbling started again and the light finally went off that it was likely the protein. I’m going back to gold standard and never venturing away from it again.
That 804 bench looked a bit too easy Hopefully someone puts up big money for a competition between Zamani and Julius
This happened to me but *apparently* the peptide BPC-157 can make you kind of lactose intolerant I damn near shit the bed one night
Well, this ended up being prescient. I got fat as fuck during the pandemic, was able to add strength while lowering body fat % until I got to about 15%, now seems like every lb I drop in body weight at this point comes at the expense of 5lbs of bench strength.
Also, if anyone is planning on visiting Gold’s Venice, first off, don’t, because it’s not worth the time or money, but if you are let me know because that’s where I lift.
Started working with Paul Milano. This block we’re building work capacity with a bunch of hypertrophy work so I’ve got 3 lifting days and 2 conditioning days. Gonna be the fittest 275 lifter on earth
3 sets of 3 second Paused DLs 5s up to 5 @8. Finished with 500. Gonna fight like hell to get that high 600/700 pull this year.
my buddy just finished him garage gym. his deadlift platform is made with RIGA textured plywood, and i am jealous.
Probably more of a question for hensleya but I'm open to anyone chiming in. I have the 70'' Monster Lite Squat Rack at home and I'm getting annoyed by the over the door pull up bar that I have and would rather have one that I can attach to the squat rack. https://www.roguefitness.com/sml-1-rogue-70-monster-lite-squat-stand-1 Two issues with that: 1) The top of the squat rack isn't very tall, so if I just attach a pull up bar to the top of my rack, I'll have to start from a kneeling position or something to do that. 2) I'm pretty sure my ceiling is only 8 or 9 feet (I'm not home to measure), so I can't go tooooo high either. What are my options here? Is there like an extender I can add onto the existing rack and then add a pull up bar onto that?
you should just be able to buy taller uprights directly from rogue if you reach out to them. I know they used to do this. It’s a simple swap if they allow it. Then you can just buy a pull-up bar with it.
I could set an ATWR someday and still get called “Garage Gym Labs friend”. Happy for you, bud. Love seeing all your success
Lol, thanks brother. I still get a kick out of the powerlifting meet announcer saying you were coached by garage gym lab.
Does anyone know which BCAA this man takes? Jamal takes 1,003lbs https://www.instagram.com/reel/Caaeh7WJ983/?utm_medium=copy_link
We lived in Jacksonville briefly… I second the beaches, we lived in Avondale and it was ok, but in hindsight my wife and I both agree that we should have gone to the beaches.
I was feeling beat the fuck up on warmups today and saw hensleya's IG stories about amrap4autism so it was mostly an amrap day. 215 x 8 larsen bench then 185 x 16 and pretty much rest of the workout sucked. Give me a link and I'll donate
My man! you can register for the virtual event or just donate - whichever you prefer. Thanks, bud! https://give.amrap4autism.com/event/2022-charlotte-amrap-4-autism/e387325
