But that would make me think the Russians would be even more concerned about making sure those airfields were inoperable. I would have expected most of the incoming rockets fired would be directed at those air defenses and aircraft to make sure they couldn’t get off the ground. It’s really confusing why any of them are able to operate unless they are operating from bases in Romania or Poland (not a bad idea actually) and are kept out of harms way. I know NATO has had early warning aircraft up recently and I am curious if they are giving advanced warnings to the Ukrainians. Would be pretty incredible intelligence if they could work with those to get help vectoring on incoming aircraft without having to turn on their own radars (making them a target).
