Yeah but the reality is that it’s politically impossible to do so based on the risk of nuclear Armageddon. So deterrence has to be done through this treaty system we have going.
Emotionally I feel the same. It's just a fucking piece of paper. Give to their president he'll sign it. Fuck send it DocuSign. That's my emotional response. Rational says we should have signed the piece of paper years ago but doing it now....idk.
Why don’t you get up and fly over there and offer your services instead of requesting other Americans do so?
Like I said earlier, that's where the whole thing gets frustrating. On one side, you have people say we can't risk nuclear Armageddon for Ukraine but we can for Poland. Why? Bc of a Treaty? On the other side you have people that say Russia will never use nukes but we still shouldn't get involved. I'll let it go for the sake of the thread, I just hate watching this shit play out knowing that there's a clear good guy and bad guy in this situation and nobody is stepping in to help the good guy outside of intel and weapons. A few hundred jets would go a long way right now.
Was the Kiev dam actually struck? I read a bunch of articles saying a missile targeted it last night but was struck down by Ukraine air defense.
Remember that it’s only day three of the war. And that it’s much more complicated than most Americans realize for our military to enter a conflict. Not to mention the lasting ramifications of entering a direct head-to-head war with Russia. That could be a commitment of up to a decade and a death toll far greater than will take place over the coming months.
If there is a way to leverage this into forcing Putin out of power, the West is going to figure it out.
Putin is 1000% getting deposed in quick order. Never believed I would type that sentence, but I also didn’t believe the last week would happen, so…
The more I think about this; if Ukraine keeps this effort up; Putin may not have much of a force left to try and scare Poland or anyone else.
That post a couple pages back indicating that the bulk of the initial force was untrained conscripts still puzzles me. You’re trying to demonstrate a power projection with the whole world watching and you send in that for your initial offensive?
