Apparently there is a regular season game to be played in Munich next season. Man, that would be awesome if they select us. Our fans would show up in droves
Pretty sure he merely saw this on PFF’s free agency predictions article, but if we can’t trust Pacman then who can we trust?
If the Bengals can get two starting OL in free agency would you be okay with them taking a corner or DT at 31? Seems like there's about a <1% chance they pay up for Armstead or Orlando Brown (same for Tunsil probably), but two of Jensen/Scherff/Bozeman/Bates/Tomlinson/etc would go a long way for the offensive line. *I obviously know that they need more than just two guys to fix that disaster.
I am completely onboard with trading our first pick for a sure fire player with at least 2 years remaining on their contract. I don’t want OL that are injury prone
I am, but again it’s all dependent what we do in FA. I am skeptical just based on how we have done so far trying to bolster the OL in the past. I do think we may have some promising pieces already moving forwards, but by no means good enough to be difference makers on that line. Tobin’s quotes yesterday worry me, but he usually has done a good job. Guess we will see soon enough.
Glass-eater (n., glas eder): A bad dude. The rest of us might just be avocado toast eaters, or avocado ice cream eaters in Tom Brady's case, but these guys literally eat glass to get ready for NFL games and that makes them extra, extra tough. Usually reserved for offensive linemen.
I'm only ok not drafting an OL in round 1 if we sign 3 starters in FA. 2 is not enough when we have 4 holes to fill. Like Goose I want us to trade our first round pick for a proven tackle. If we don't do that then in FA we need to sign a T, C and G. At least one of them needs to be a top tier FA with the others being mid tier guys. I'd be fine bringing Spain back at G if we spend on a T and C.
Spoiler alert, the Bengals are not going to sign 3-4 starting OL in free agency. Doubt they trade a 1st round pick for a player, either. Really hope I'm wrong, but at the end of the day, it's still the Bengals front office. We're not gonna completely overhaul things in 1 off-season like the Chiefs did.
They literally just spent a ton of money the last two years to completely remake the defense. No one is expecting them to sign 4 OL in free agency. But signing 2 - 3 OL who are improvements over this years dumpster fire is not exactly hard to do.
Still can't get over the fact that we drafted a fat fuck who hasn't taken his conditioning seriously at any point in his football career and thought he would magically flip a switch once he signed a professional contract. Meanwhile Creed Humphrey is the best center in the NFL as a rookie
I think they'll probably sign 2 starting OL. Center and RT. They don't value guards, and that's been proven over the past two decades. They'll roll with Carman and probably another guy they draft this year, or Spain if that player isn't ready.
I'd prefer they did more then that but I'd be satisfied with signing a T and C in FA and addressing G in the draft. Maybe bum ass Carman shows something next season but I'm not holding my breath.
Seems like Carman was having motivation issues this season, hopefully, he fixes that, because he did have some bright spots in the middle of the season this year.
Big week coming up. It needs to start with adding La'el Collins and Ryan Jensen iyam. And then resign either Hill or Ogunjobi (I prefer the former). If they can pull that off and then take either Kenyon Green or Zion Johnson at 31
Still need to get another starter in FA. I'd prefer they sign a C and then trade for La'el Collins. Doesn't seem like the Cowboys are asking for a lot in return for him as they want his money off the books. Even if it takes our 1st round pick for Collins I'd do it as he's under contract for 3 more years at only $10 million/year. 3 new starters on the OL who are upgrades from last year would be a very successful offseason.
I think we could go after Bozeman at center, then if we get Collins too, we already have a drastic different line than last season. Would be huge.
If they can somehow get Collins that would be four solid starters on the line. And then you just have to hope Spain/Carman/D'Ante Smith are good enough to hold down left guard. Even just adding these two new starters is going to help out tremendously.
I'm fine with Spain coming back and competing for the LG spot. Getting Collins or some other proven RT is the last piece of the puzzle. Karras signed for the same amount of money as Hopkins makes ($6 mil) so assuming the cut Trey they only spent $10 million to upgrade two positions.
Can't be anything but happy about this start to free agency. Just a handful of needs left now that can be addressed in fa or the draft (RT, CB, DL depth, TE).
His girl Kay Adams is in Jersey, makes sense to me, don't think the Bengals wanted to sign him for three more years.
Yeah that’s too much money for Uzomah. Seems like a great guy but he’s an average te. Also no way CJ is with Kay Adams.
