There are people out there that put that amount of effort into every hour of a multi-day trip and get away with paying like $100 total for everything. When I was first going out like 10-12 years ago there was this big ass coupon book that people would buy every year and their trip would consist of staying on the cheapest off-strip hotel possible and only eating or doing things covered by the coupons. Ride the bus 17 miles each way to do a free $5 bet and free shrimp cocktail for lunch. Wild.
prepare for it to be cold as shit in the theater. Also, piss before you get to your seat. He hilariously heckled someone that got up to piss.
Hoping the flights I saw earlier are still available because if so about to book the trip out there for end of April.
Locked in, 4/30 to 5/3. Staying at Park MGM. Found a return flight for 79 bucks, and the two final nights at Park were like 75 bucks each.
Think we are going to stay at the Golden nugget 2 days before my work portion starts. Any tips on getting a good deal there other than maybe Priceline?
I’ve bet heavy over there and still haven’t really been offered anything good. That said talked to a host out of curiosity one day and he was ready to give me a free weekend you have any record of playing there? If so try to get a hold of someone in their player development department or whatever it’s called over there.
Unfortunately no, I’ve never played there. color me embarrassed, I can’t believe I didn’t think of that.
You’d think circa blowing them out of the number one downtown property would loosen them up a little.
prices aren’t terrible, I just thought it might be a little bit cheaper. Oh well. there is a 1200 sq suite available on Priceline that would cost about $1100 total for Saturday and Sunday nights. If I get drunk enough I just might book it bc yolo
Opium is at Cosmo. Saw it on Thursday last week, not as good after the Covid re-start. Absinthe picked up almost exactly where they left off, so I'd still go see Absinthe over Opium. The renovations to the "theatre" at Cosmo where Opium is are much needed, the bar area to gather pre-show is pretty solid and the bartender was generous with his whiskey pours. The ski lounge and Superfrico are a massive downgrade from Rose Rabbit Lie and the speakeasy that was back there.
Is Hugo’s Cellar the steakhouse everyone says to try when staying downtown? Old school Vegas vibes or something? Also, how does the linq high roller half happy hour work? You can buy all day passes, so do you just show up whenever and then wait for first available? If so, depending on the wait, that could be a few hours no?
Heading out again may 15th-20th staying at park mgm. When I was booking hotels I almost got Mandalay for $50 a night but got busy at work and didn’t book it. So deflated I didn’t.
Hugo’s cellar is in the bottom of the 4 Queens. Been there a few times and always had a great experience. Feels like old Vegas and the staff/service is what you’re going for. Table side salad and deserts. They’ll have a sommelier talk to you if you’re drinking wine to pair with your meal. Haven’t been since COVID started but it is one of my favorite places in Vegas. I’d suggest the hot rock appetizer and cherries jubilee for desert.
I need some new ideas If anyone has any good ones. I’m going to my regular meals on one day. But I really want to find like a Korean BBQ place you cook at the table. I think I’m going to go to O finally. gonna try and do the buffet at caesars.
Planned on staying at park MGM but can get golden nugget for about half the price. Does staying on Fremont get old after like 1 night?
note for people who care about such a thing but Park does full drinks as gambling comps felt like a different universe from all my years staying at Mirage where you get about two sips of liquid with maybe booze in it.
My friend who has previously gotten us comps at Westgate has won 140k at Caesars playing video poker the last 3-months He got us a penthouse suite comped at Nobu, so heading back to Vegas for the first time since 2019 between 24th-27th. Are there any really good shows right now?
You're saying the drinks you get while gambling at Park are more like real drinks rather than other places that skimp on the alcohol?
It’s a top 5 Vegas steakhouse imo. Great experience. Try their French Press coffee service ( assuming they still have it). You will need a reservation.
The MGM brand really cracked down on gaming floor drinks in 2016. They implemented volume constraints for pours and limited access to better quality bourbons and other spirits. At the video poker seats at the bars they began providing drinks based on the number of hands played (or some other similar bullshit). I’ll assume that Caesar’s and the other brands followed suite.

i buy the coupon book.... but i only use the match play coupons. Most Fremont St. casinos have matchplay deals in there.
I set it to 4* and up, casino, on the strip: 119 trendy - trump (before I set the casino filter) 92 4* 4.0 unique - Sahara 115 4.5* 4.2 - resorts world 149 4* classic T-Mobile - NYNY 120 4* classic center/forum - TI 149 high roller 4* - Linq 215 4.5* - Mirage 189 4* - nomad 259 4.5 - Cromwell 192 4.5 - mandalay 189 4* - mgm 174 4* classic - ph in a web browser just click on the photos and when it pops up the actual photo hold to copy, paste into tineye.com I knew most already from doing this a few weeks ago for myself.
