Tennessee Police Arrest Woman Wearing Only A Mask, Tail & Underwear
    By Sarah Tate

You don't see this every day.

A woman in Tennessee who police say abandoned her burning car was arrested later in the day after she was found nearly naked and ringing doorbells.

According to a report from the Knoxville Police Department, officers were called to a wreck at Edington Road near Maryville Pike where they found an abandoned car still in motion at the intersection of Sims and Lester roads. A witness reportedly doused a fire that broke out on one of the doors after it hit a guardrail, per WVLT. During the course of the investigation, the car was discovered to belong to 23-year-old Marisa Ferrante.

A seemingly separate incident later on Monday (September 20) involving reports of a masked naked woman ringing doorbells along Sims Road actually turned out to be connected when officers identified the suspect as Ferrante. When they arrived, they found Ferrante wearing only a mask, a tail and underwear stopping traffic at an intersection. They tried to approach her, but she fled on foot and jumped a fence at a house nearby, the news outlet reports.

According to the police report, officers found Ferrante pretending to defecate on a lawn while talking to a dog in an enclosure before she began eating grass. While taking her into custody, she reportedly tried to hit, kick and bite officers and told them she felt "called to abandon her car and go into the woods naked."

Ferrante is facing several charges from her wild day out, including indecent exposure, evading arrest, criminal trespass, resisting arrest, assault on a first responder, disorderly conduct, obstructing a highway, reckless endangerment, duty upon striking fixtures upon a highway and not providing an immediate notice of an accident.

Florida Man Tries To Trade In Car To Dealership He Stole From
    By Zuri Anderson

Timothy C. Wolfe is accused of trying to trade in a vehicle he stole from a Lake City, Florida dealership.
    Photo: Lake City Police Department
They say a suspect may return to the crime scene. One man was bold enough to do so, according to First Coast News.

It started when Lake City Police responded to a dealership on 4325 W US Hwy 90 on Monday (September 20). Officers learned from employees that a man, identified as Timothy Wolfe, came in wanting to trade his current vehicle for a new one.

The thing is, his vehicle was allegedly stolen from that same lot just a few days prior. To confirm this, police say they checked the vehicle's VIN number, which matched with the one reported stolen. Officers also reviewed the dealership's camera footage, which captured the crime happening, authorities added.

PRESS RELEASE: Man attempts to trade stolen vehicle to dealership For Immediate Release ...

Posted by Lake City Police Department - Lcflapd on Tuesday, September 21, 2021
Wolfe was arrested and booked into the Columbia County Detention Center on charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle, dealing in stolen property, criminal mischief, and petit theft.

He wasn't the only one who tried to play tricks with a car dealership. Earlier this year, a Florida woman tried driving off with a vehicle during a test drive. A California man managed to carjack an Audi dealership employee during a test drive.

In an even more wild incident, a Utah man tried to set several vehicles on fire at a dealership.

Florida Woman Named Teacher Of The Year Accused Of Child Abuse
    By Zuri Anderson

    November 3, 2021

Caroline Lee, 60, is accused of striking a female student in the face two days after being named Teacher of the Year at her school.
    Photo: Duval County Jail
A longtime Florida educator is facing a child abuse charge two days after being named Teacher of the Year, The Florida Times-Union reports.

Jail records say 60-year-old Caroline "Melanie" Lee was arrested Friday (October 29), according to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO). The incident began with a Wednesday (October 27) Instagram post by Duval County Public Schools, which announced Lee as the Teacher of the Year at Darnell-Cookman Middle/High, an arrest report says.

Several users were skeptical of the win, and some even alleged previous incidents with the educator. Lee allegedly asked one of the students who made the comments to come into her classroom. Reporters pointed out that the student wasn't in any of the English teacher's classes this year.

The report claims Lee reached across the table and struck a female student several times in the face. The victim suffered a nose bleed from the attack, authorities added.

When asked about the alleged incident, Lee denied hurting the student to officers. She told police that the message the student sent was perceived as "a threat to kill her," and wanted to speak privately with the student.

"School surveillance video showed Lee 'walking at an aggressive pace' to her classroom before the incident and the student," reporters described. "About four minutes later, leaving the classroom holding her face and walking with a 'low demeanor' to a guidance counselor’s office, where she reported the incident, the responding officer said in the report."
WJXT says Lee has since bonded out of the Duval County Jail. She was ordered by a judge over the weekend not to return to her school or have any contact with the victim. The new station also reached out to Lee's attorney for comment on Monday (November 1). The request hasn't been returned.

The school also told reporters the 60-year-old teacher will not be returning to their classroom, pending judicial and internal procedures.

Burnt Biscuits Cause Brawl In Drive-Thru Lane, Ohio Woman Charged In Attack
    By Kelly Fisher

    November 24, 2021

Burnt biscuits led to an alleged attack on a restaurant employee, and now an Ohio woman is facing charges in connection with the brawl.

Rahniqua Jenkins, 23, pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned in municipal court on Tuesday (November 23). Jenkins is charged with disorderly conduct and criminal damaging. She’s slated to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on December 6, Wheeling, West Virginia-based WTRF noted.

The station reported that law enforcement officers responded to a call of a fight with a gun at a Popeye’s Louisiana Chicken restaurant around 8:40 p.m. The 9mm semiautomatic handgun was fostered in the front seat of Jenkins’ car, which police blocked in the drive-thru when they arrived at the scene. The Popeye’s employee reported to police that some biscuits were burned, and when the employee asked Jenkins to show her receipt so they could replace the biscuits, Jenkins became angry. Unable to show her receipt, she would have had to buy new ones. She apparently refused to leave, and when the employee came outside to take a picture of her license plate with a cell phone, Jenkins allegedly smashed the phone against a wall and waved her gun around. WTRF reports that Jenkins admitted to police that she knocked the cell phone from the employee’s hand, but she said she took the gun off the holster when she exited her vehicle so she wouldn’t scare the employee during the alleged altercation over burnt biscuits.

Florida Woman Allegedly Poisons Boyfriend, Says He 'Wouldn't Shut Up'
    By Zuri Anderson

    December 17, 2021

Alvis Parrish was charged in connection to the poisoning of her boyfriend, according to local Florida authorities.
    Photo: Jacksonville Sheriff's Office
A 54-year-old Florida woman is facing charges after authorities claim she poisoned her boyfriend of nine years, according to WVUE.

Alvis Parrish is accused of spiking her partner's lemonade with quetiapine tablets, which reportedly left him "extremely lethargic," according to a report from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. When deputies arrived on the scene, Parris reportedly screamed at them from her front porch.

Officials say they initially weren't aware why the victim was tired, and he even declined medical attention. The sickened boyfriend was later rushed to the hospital when deputies found him on the floor, according to the report.

Authorities then questioned Parrish about the incident. She reportedly told deputies she spiked the drink because "he wouldn’t shut the f*** up." The sheriff's office claimed she also said this in a statement to WTLV:

"I gave him just enough to shut him up and called y’all, so he wouldn’t die… Do whatever you want, but if you don’t take me, I will kill him."
Quetiapine is an "atypical" antipsychotic medication used to treat schizophrenia, according to the American Journal of Psychiatry. Overdoses can lead to drowsiness and cardiac problems, including fast heart rates and low blood pressure, experts say.

Parish was charged with poisoning food or water with intent to kill or injure a person. Her next court date is scheduled for December 29.

The Weirdest Florida Stories We Found In 2021
    By Zuri Anderson

    December 31, 2021

Photo: Delray Beach Fire Rescue, Marion County Jail, Getty Images
We made it to 2022. Many say 2021 was just a continuation of the chaos we survived in 2020, and there's some truth to it... at least in Florida.

This year saw ladies getting into all kinds of (mostly criminal) shenanigans in the Sunshine State, from spitting on flight passengers and fighting children to pulling up randomly to an armed standoff... naked... on a golf cart.

On the other hand, some women were getting attention for things they didn't do. One 85-year-old woman said she was scared when a surprise parking violation came in the mail.

Just because people were getting rowdy this year doesn't mean the local wildlife was any less wild. A tree species you can only find in Florida was thrust back into the spotlight over its deadly qualities. Alligator stories are common, but one moment caught on camera may leave your heart pumping.

A lot happened this year, and these were just a handful of strange news that went down. That said, we picked out the most viral and most-viewed stories that came out of Florida in 2021. Here's to a new year!

Florida Women Face Charges For Glitter-Bombing Man At His Home
    By Zuri Anderson

    January 12, 2022

Sarah Franks, 27 (left) and Kaitlin O'Donovan, 29 (right) are accused of pelting a Florida man with glitter containers.
    Photo: Pinellas County Sheriff's Office
Two Florida women were taken into custody after authorities claim they "glitter-bombed" a male victim, according to The Smoking Gun.
The incident began when the suspects pulled up to Jacob Colon's Clearwater home Monday (January 10) around 3 a.m., an arrest affidavit reads. Police say 29-year-old Sarah Franks and 27-year-old Kaitlin O'Donovan were arguing with Colon while he was standing on his fenced balcony.

That's when Franks and Donovan allegedly threw a container of glitter at Colon, striking him "in the upper torso and head," the affidavit says. Cops allege Franks climbed over the fence, entered Colon's apartment, pelted him with more glitter packs, and unlocked the front door to let O'Donovan inside.

The duo continued glitter-bombing the victim, and the incident concluded with Franks allegedly breaking a window in Colon's apartment, according to officials. They then drove away, police added.

Colon was reportedly able to identify the two women, and authorities suspected they lived in the same apartment. Officers tracked the getaway car back to Franks and O'Donovan's home, where they were arrested. Upon searching the vehicle, cops say it "was still warm to the touch and glitter was observed on the inside of the vehicle

Franks and O'Donovan were both arrested and charged with felony burglary with assault and battery. Franks got an extra charge of criminal mischief for allegedly breaking Colon's window.

Both women have since bonded out of Pinellas County Jail. A judge has ordered them to not have any contact with Colon.

Florida Couple Arrested For Allegedly Torturing Man For 3 Days
    By Bill Galluccio

    January 12, 2022

Photo: Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation
Authorities in Florida arrested a couple accused of kidnapping and torturing a man for three days. Police said that Occius Dorsainvil, 56, and Marie Dorsainvil, 52, lured the victim, who was not identified, to an apartment complex in Miami and chained him up.

They beat him and forced him to record a video admitting he cheated on his wife with Marie. They also told him if he went to the bathroom, they would force him to eat it.
On the second day, they demanded $50,000 from the victim and forced him to sign over the title to his car. On the third day, the couple forced the man to take a shower at gunpoint and then took him with them as they drove to pick up his car, which was parked a few blocks away.

Before letting the man go, they made him drink a concoction containing rum and bleach, which made him pass out. When he woke up roughly 30 minutes later, he ran to get help.

“Somebody came out of the vehicle running towards me, and he looked like he was shot or stabbed, but it actually was just blood from the vomiting that occurred,” a good Samaritan who helped the man told WSVN.

The victim was hospitalized in an unknown condition.

Occius and Marie were taken into custody on multiple charges. Occius was charged with attempted second-degree murder, kidnapping, grand theft auto, tampering, extortion, and robbery and is being held on a $50,000 bond. His wife was charged with attempted second-degree murder, kidnapping, grand theft auto, and robbery and remained jailed on a bond of $35,000.

Alabama man accused of keeping meth-fed ‘attack squirrel’ faces new charges

    'Attack squirrel' in Limestone County
By William Thornton | [email protected]
The trial of a Limestone County man who allegedly kept a squirrel supplied with methamphetamine to make it attack people has been delayed.

Mickey Joel Paulk’s trial was scheduled to start Monday, but it was continued until Feb. 28 at 1:30 p.m., according to court documents.

Paulk faces charges for possession of a wild animal, stolen property, and possession of a weapon by a felon. He was arrested in June 2019.

Paulk, 39, will also face other charges later, according to court records.

He was arrested Dec. 23, 2021 on charges of chemical endangerment of a child and trafficking methamphetamine, as well as some drug and weapons charges. According to documents, Paulk was indicted back in June 2021 of the chemical endangerment charge and in January 2021 of the trafficking count.

A manhunt began for Paulk on June 18, 2019, when a drug bust in Athens turned up meth, ammunition and body armor.

Also found was a caged squirrel. Before authorities acted on a search warrant, they were told that Paulk fed meth to the animal to keep it aggressive. The sheriff’s office said it released the squirrel into a wooded area.

“There was no safe way to test the squirrel for meth,” Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely’s office said in a June 18, 2019 statement shortly after the bust. The squirrel garnered national fame when the story came to light.

Paulk released a video the day after the bust with a squirrel that he claimed was the same one released by sheriff’s deputies. He denied that he fed the squirrel meth.

Florida Couple Accused Of Keeping Adopted Boy Locked In Garage For 5 Years
    By Bill Galluccio

Photo: Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office
A Florida couple is facing multiple charges for allegedly locking up a boy they adopted in their garage for five years. Police said the 14-year-old boy managed to run away from home and told officers he would rather go to jail than return to his adopted parents, Tracy and Timothy Ferriter.

Authorities said the Ferriters, who are both 46, kept the boy under constant surveillance in an eight-foot by eight-foot structure that had only a mattress and bucket for him to use as a toilet. The door was bolted shut and could only be opened from inside the house. The teen told detectives he would spend up to 18 hours per day living in the tiny structure, only leaving so he could go to school. He noted that he was forced to live in similar conditions when he was with a family in Arizona.

Other children in the house told detectives that the teen was forced to stay in the garage because he was "in trouble a lot."

The Ferriters were charged with aggravated child abuse and false imprisonment and were being held on a $50,000 bond. They were ordered to have no contact with their children, who were placed in the custody of the Florida Department of Children and Families.

Florida Man Crushed To Death By Bulldozer While Using Porta-Potty
    By Bill Galluccio

    March 7, 2022

    Photo: Getty Images
A Florida man was crushed to death while using a porta-potty at a landfill in Polk County. Authorities identified the victim as Aaron Henderson, 43, who worked at the landfill as a spotter, directing trucks as they dumped their trash.

On Friday (March 4), a bulldozer was driving up an embankment to park for the night. As the driver went up the embankment, he had to elevate the front blade, which blocked his view. As he turned the bulldozer, he heard a crushing sound and realized he had run over a porta-potty.

"He immediately exited the bulldozer and ran towards the porta-potty to see if anyone was inside of it," the Polk County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. "At that time, he observed Henderson unresponsive inside."

The driver told investigators that he did not realize there was a porta-potty near the staging area and that he couldn't see it because he had to raise the blade as he drove up the embankment.

Officials said the incident was a "tragic, industrial accident" and the first time that somebody had died at the landfill.

"Last night's incident was a tragic accident," said Martha Santiago, board chair for North Central Landfill, according to Newsweek. "Our board asks that you keep the family and friends of the deceased in your thoughts and prayers."

Florida Man Arrested For Illegal Possession Of Dairy Case
    By Zuri Anderson

    March 14, 2022

    Photo: Palm Beach County Jail
Several states have some strange and, at times, outdated laws. A Florida man allegedly ran afoul of a very specific law recently, according to Boca News Now.

On March 8 around 2 a.m., Boca Raton Police reportedly stopped 37-year-old Christopher Hartmanis in the area of Camino Gardens Boulevard and Cyprus Way because they noticed he didn't have a red reflector or light on the back of his bicycle. The responding officer spotted a "National Dairy" case on the back of his bike -- the kind of item a milkman may use to deliver dairy products to homes.

"The black case, generally used for dairy delivery was marked ‘National Dairy’ on one side, and also marked with ‘Warning, use by other than registered owner is punishable by law," the cop wrote in an arrest report.

On top of that, the cop claims he found methamphetamines inside a pouch tucked in the case. The suspect was allegedly holding a bottle containing the drugs.

Hartmanis was charged with methamphetamine possession and illegal possession of a dairy case. Reporters say he also got a written violation for riding his bike without a red light or reflector.

The 37-year-old man was booked into Palm Beach County Jail and later released on his own recognizance.

I reckon Boca Raton must be really hurting for cash if their cops are tacking on charges like “theft of milk crate.” Wtf

These things are cyclical. Florida has recruited really well for years, and their location at the bottom of the nation serves them very well. Morons love the warm weather.

Ohio has a structural disadvantage and has to rely on great internal moron development to compete. But I still have confidence in their program.

Ohio might have fallen out of the top 5 with Texas, Arizona and The Dakotas (I refuse to split them up) just doing Satans work lately.
