Just go to Expedia and check the review number count. It’ll be the material same amount between Expedia and Hotwire.
Technically the app circled it in as ‘harmon’. You get what you put in. Cheap and easy gets you shit. Cheap and just a little bit of effort and flexibility gets you 70% off of rack rates.
I’ve never played craps before. I’ve heard of several folks doing well at the tables. Any recs on how to play, or a craps for dummies type of book, or good YouTube videos?
Just go to the floor during the day when it's not busy, go to a low limit table, and ask the dealers. Tell them you want to learn the game and they'll explain it to you on the go.
Get an app. I learned to play on a CD rom casino game and K.I.S.S. Gambling book. You’ll be familiar enough with the concepts to confidently walk up to a table.
Do this and also play around a bit on a mobile app, and be familiar with the major unwritten rules (never say 7 at the table, don’t be that dick betting the don’t pass line) The outside bets are pretty straightforward and the dealers will help you with betting the right amounts given the odds. The inside shit gets exotic and can be overwhelming at first, but all the cheers you hear from a craps table are from outside bets hitting.
I learned craps from this site back in 2007. Haven't looked at it since but maybe it's still good https://wizardofodds.com/games/craps/
Park MGM isn’t on Harmon. Harmon runs between Aria/Vdara/Cosmopolitan on the west, and Virgin on the east at Paradise Rd.
I guess they could do that to keep people guessing. No one in Vegas would reference Park as being in the “Harmon area”.
Great post, racer. My first thought was that Virgin was the property. Calling it “Harmon area” , while true, is also very misleading by including any reference to “mid-Strip” or “center Strip”. It isn’t close to The Strip.
I post a little on a vegas message board. They’re on the same platform as TMB, but they have multiple reactions, which annoy the shit out of me. They also have stock profile pics. Everyone with a stock pic is hard to differentiate, and expectedly annoying. Everyone with one particular stock photo of Vegas vic really sucks. Every one of them. It’s a little weird, but make so much sense if that’s their choice. Also the average poster age is considerably older than here, which is annoying too. And everyone has to be an expert, but they are generally wrong on fundamental levels about so many things. One super annoying thing is that people are all like comps are a reward! Enjoy them! The casinos love giving out free stuff for nothing! No, Fred. They’re a tool to get you to come back and spend money. You didn’t win a free vacation. Idiots. /rant.
Weirdos being like “don’t play in a casino if you’re not willing to put down your whole ADT every day of the trip there.” STFU, Becky. You think me spending free money at a casino when they gave up zero to get me in is going to make them like me…less?
After spending time on Fremont street on a daily basis I usually have zero desire to ever go back there to visit. I do kind of miss the good ol’ days of zero oversight at my job and clocking a bunch of OT while we screwed around, gambled, and ate long ass lunches downtown every day and called it culture building time.
I imagine the end by circa feels different. Can’t imagine much else has changed in 3-5 years from the nugget east. Tony Hsieh taking a dirt nap and leaving his estate in chaos might have some effects on the other side of LVB.
It’s cool over there. Evel Pie is great, there’s some new restaurants I haven’t tried yet but look good. And of course I will always have a soft spot for El Cortez
Silk Sonic (Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak) was really good. Ate at STK inside the Cosmopolitan. It was really good, wouldn't say great.
Going to Vegas in a week for a Bachelor party. Staying at MGM and have a cabana booked at Marquee on Saturday. First time for a few of the guys so I’m interested to see how they pace themselves.
In my experience - terribly, regardless of how much you tell them that they need to. It's always first night there - we lose a few that just crash early after dinner, possibly have a resurgence around 5/6am to attend a strip club or Drai's after-hours Cabana reservations for the next day are always fun since they only hold the reservations until a certain time unless prepaid and it's literally herding cats to get everyone functional enough to go to the day club
Also people not understanding that most of the girls aren't getting to the club until like 12:30 and everyone being blacked out by that time is always fun to deal with lol
$20 tricked into an executive king at MGM. Not extraordinary by any means, but def worth $20 for the living area and shower. Overall MGM has not quite been what I’d expect from their tier of hotel. Lots of little stuff in need of better cleaning or maintenance/suboptimal working condition. Some I guess I can chalk up to coming off what has probably been their busiest weekend in a couple of years. Got my ass beat at the craps table last night. Back almost ahead on roulette and Monopoly slots this morning at Mirage.
