Looks like the astros desperately jumped in on story after missing on Correa so i bet he goes there unless the Yankees throw a ton of money at him
No, he was just horrible. Eventually he just stopped pitching and we started using him in super specific spots as a reliever.
As bad as Smyly was last year, he gave us a solid few inning in one of the NLCS games, and I choose to remember him that way.
Atlanta signed Smyly to be a good #4 on a championship contender. The Cubs are signing Smyly to be a guy who can throw 100 (maybe more?) innings on a team that isn't going anywhere because they don't have enough people to get them through a season at the moment. Turned out Smyly wasn't capable of being what Atlanta wanted/paid him to be. If he can stay healthy, I see no reason why he's not qualified to do what the Cubs want from him. They're not paying him to be good. They're paying him to pitch innings they can't otherwise fill.
makes me think he was trying to get something crazy like a 12+ year deal because he definitely could have ended up with the Seager deal if he wanted it imo
Thought this was interesting on some technology stuff the Rays were testing yesterday for pitch calling. Seems like this could be helpful.
I clicked on the Tigers' box score for today to see how a couple guys did. Saw that Luis Severino started the game for the Yankees. I had legit forgotten he is a person who existed.
I am prepared to pay a significantly higher than suggested price on Tarik Skubal in an upcoming fantasy draft, and am hoping not to be disappointed in the results.
Yeah, its a stupid joke tweet (its obviously either a donkey or a seal) but I thought EOF's reply was funny.
