That’s awesome. I want to go over some year and ride a stage before or after they do it and take in a stage.

while doing this for the TdF is fun, its even more amazing to do this for the belgian classic races. if you want to plan ahead, wait until the next time Alpe d'Huez is on the docket and definitely do it. the fans are there for days/weeks ahead of time just camping out and will give you beer/food, cheer you on, etc. Its beautiful

Ha. No. That is the “general” take compared to some of the other massive climbs. I’m sure it is hard if you are racing it. And those Lance totals need to come off.

So, uh, this seems odd. Thoughts? I know disc breaks would be safer but this seems wild.

Tour of Flanders this Sunday. MvDP is heating up and it sounds like WVA is sick. So we might miss out on that rivalry.

May be venturing back into this sport after a 20yr hiatus. When I left I was riding a Litespeed Classic with DA and Ksyriums.

Quick look tells me the industry has fully adopted carbon frames throughout all price points, titanium is not common, but steel frames are holding on still in niche brands. Thru-axles, larger diameter tires, and disc brakes are becoming standard?

Give me some recs around $5k. I’m intrigued by this one, that company reminds me of the guys at Surly. I used to race a rigid B.U.S.S. when I was in college. That bike fucked.

If I get back into the sport, it’ll just be to ride with coworkers. I’d prefer a less aggressive riding position, so anything that looks like a tri bike is a no-go.

I believe AllCity and Surly are linked… Ive been riding a surly steel frame for the last 4 years or so. After my oldest kid cracked my e carbon frame. I’ll get it repaired one day, once the kids are a bit less reckless.

I’m very happy with my Surly because I live in dirt roads and can easily toss on gravel roads or fatter tires.
