Anyone on here ever had to have the talk with their dad where you need to take their car keys away because they shouldn't be driving anymore?
Did w my mom Had the doctor do it, after she got sicker (Alz.) Changed out her Keychain w a dummy car key when she said something about still driving. I drove her everywhere after doctor talk. Was happy to do so as we had daily time to just talk
My wife’s sister lives in Arlington, VA and will tell any visitor that Interstate 66 that runs near her house is the beginning of the famous Route 66, despite all facts to the contrary
I just remembered doing this last night, but I ended up at the dive bar next to my spot that also gets a ton of local college aged kids. The TouchTunes had some terrible music playing so I figured teach the kids a lesson. 2112 from Rush decided to enter the chat.
For those of you wondering, Scott Stapp is alive and well and currently performing at Busch Gardens in Tampa.
Grandma did the dignified thing and got a dui after crashing her van into someone (thankfully uninjured) and spared us all from having the awkward talk.
When I was at the naval academy plebes were required to attend at least 1 non-revenue match a week. Most of those nerds hated it but I enjoyed it. I found out I enjoy watching things like lacrosse, squash, crew, and all the other sports I had no exposure to being from Idaho.
Looking forward to BYU leaving the WCC so those schools can play golf tournaments that run Friday-Sunday instead of always playing multiple days during the week Going to Phoenix and Vegas in consecutive weekends soon to watch a men's and then a women's tournament. Few things more fun than walking a beautiful course while watching college golf
Long story short - Sophmore year of HS I got a broken rib and 'bruised kidney' during football. Said I couldnt play basketball that year to avoid contact. I joined racquetball team. Ended up winning state. No one showed up for these matches, then one of the dudes on the team basically bribed people to show up. It was one of the louder sporting events ive participated in because of the acoustics. Most of the kids on the team were incredibly douchy country club types. There were a couple nerdy type kids I was happy for to get that kind of support.
I discovered lacrosse in college. Due to the other stuff I was doing, I frequently interacted with the lacrosse assistants and decided to check out a game and loved it. Probably my second favorite sport to watch behind basketball, even though I don’t watch much of it since it overlaps with college basketball and the especially the NBA. I went to everything at some point other than tennis since the tennis teams were trash and got treated like that for the most part.
Field hockey was generally boring as shit to watch but fun to play. Well still is boring to watch actually.
PSU. Went to football games obviously and the vast majority of men's basketball games. But other than some women's volleyball matches and some others here and there I didn't go to any. Would have gone to hockey but that didn't start at D1 until the semester I graduated so I only got to attend a few. Really wish I had gone to more women's volleyball, wrestling, lacrosse, and soccer.
Just left Home Depot. Had to get a couple new gas containers for our lawn mower/weed eater. Just went through all our old clothes to donate so ran out of garbage bags. Just occurred to me that I had one of those shopping trips that are referenced in a lot of true crime podcasts. “He was seen on CCTV purchasing gas cans and garbage bags.” Gonna have to ask everyone I see and hang out with what time it is for awhile.
Non-sense.. There are plenty of perfectly acceptable reasons to also buy rubber gloves, ammonia and a tarp.
I cancelled cable about 6 months ago. Don’t miss it (especially for the cost, plus I use my parents login for ESPN), but I have amassed quite the collection of streaming services since. Netflix - $15/month…have had for probably 10 years Disney+/Hulu - $10/month…got it about a year ago cause my kids wanted to watch Disney/Pixar movies Apple TV+ - free with an iPhone HBO Max - free with ATT service Discovery+ - $5/month for DDD Paramount+ - signed up for $5/month to watch the new Jackass movie Roku TV - free with Roku, good for History Channel It’s hard to care about $5-10 a month for 3-4 services when I spent like $100/month on cable for years. I guess I’m the perfect streaming customer/sucker.
I hate when you can see an actors face in your mind but you can’t think of their name or what movie/show it was from. Tall. Bald. White. He was a cop or detective. It might have even been a comedy but he was dead serious in every scene. Had a low raspy voice. I feel like he was in movies/shows for a long time. Google just thinks the only bald white cops are the commish. Grr. This is annoying.
