Pirates sent Oneil Cruz down to start the season. Defensible in terms of saying he needs some AAA at bats, maybe. Not defensible in terms of Kevin Neumann and Cole Tucker being the alternatives to start the season.
well, undoubtedly, someone would scratch themselves getting off, and they would be put on the 60 day IL
we apparently can’t even expect pitchers to lightly jog the bases once a week without getting hurt and now we want to involve hovercrafts
Find the complaint to mainly being an airing of grievances. Regardless, this is gonna be a whole thing
We don’t know. On admin leave until 4/16 and the league will maybe rule something then. Apparently they would like to interview him. I’m not exactly sure how they have not interviewed him yet.
Been listening to a lot of season preview pods and every time the mention they Guardians, my brain does a double take. Will take a bit to get use to it.
The only league wide podcasts i listen to are Effectively Wild, Talkin’ Baseball and Ballpark Dimensions (use to be called mlb stat cast. Idk why they changed the name) Others are Cards focused.
At least your starting pitching will never be as bad as the rangers has been 13 straight different opening day pitchers
I’ve been going through fantasy baseball pods the last few days, and Pitcherlist has really bolstered their podcast feed. They have released a ton of content the last few weeks. Definitely worth checking out. I also tried listening to the rotographs sleeper and the bust pod, but those guys are such dweebs. They were talking about ranking their draft positions and one (I think Justin Mason) was proudly unironically talking about ranking very highly whatever first round pick would give him the 69th pick and the exchange made me throw my phone out the window.
Same, been listening to them for probably close to a decade, or at least it feels that way. I really think they shit the bed once NFBC came out. Their entire content pre draft are hyper focused on finding steals. While that's relevant, wish they would commit more time to value for price. Once the season starts it's simply talking waiver wire cost and budget. Again, cool, but not everyone is in a 12 team roto with even remotely the same stats and parameters they are keying in on. I feel like they just completely miss the boat compared to what they previously put out. I don't mind that they are dweebs, their content absolutely blows now. It's more sad to me than anything else because they do know their shit.
That second tweet is dumb as fuck. Molly is a horrible and tedious follow on Twitter, but any equivocation between her and Bauer is major online brain poisoning.
Is there a known reason why Knight isn't at The Athletic anymore? Always seemed odd they hired her in the first place.
No idea. She left to start some sub stack or whatever. Seems like a silly move. So I’m guessing one of them wanted to part ways.
I know some spring training staffs are short and you don't have a ton of people available, but I'm not sure what the Nats were doing when they left Cade Cavalli in for 2.1 innings so he could allow 11 runs to STL today. Not sure that's helpful to anyone.
Anibal gave up 8 runs in the first two innings and they trotted him out there for two more. Haven’t been closely following ST but I know the Nats are super short on arms.
Need a couple more for a TMB fantasy league if anyone is interested. https://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/fantasy-baseball-2022.181691/page-5
