The Brevard County Sheriff's Office has come under scrutiny in the past for its use of force, including in the case of Gregory Edwards, an army veteran who died in custody at the Brevard County Jail in December 2018. Up to eight corrections deputies responded when Edwards became combative during his booking for an alleged assault in West Melbourne earlier that day. Video ultimately released by Ivey's office after a court battle with FLORIDA TODAY showed that deputies punched, kneed, tased and pepper-sprayed Edwards before strapping him into a restraint chair with a hood over his face. Edwards became unresponsive and died minutes later The medical examiner's office ruled his death a case of excited delirium, a controversial diagnosis often invoked in police custody deaths. More recently, Ivey came under fire for his agency's handling of Deputy Jafet Santiago-Miranda, who was disciplined but not fired following a series of "concerning" and sometimes violent incidents in 2020 involving his then-wife and a sergeant with the Titusville Police Department, according to agency records.
Full video. They had an AED there for close to 5 minutes and did not utilize it. They sat on their asses, feeling for a pulse for nearly ten minutes while repositioning and slapping him, saying "Edward wake up." He screamed that he can't breathe 11 times. Edward had evacuated his bladder causing some of their pants to become wet. Their reaction was to gasp when they noticed and move on. Blood stopped flowing into the sample vial so they asked for a fucking syringe instead. More important to get a sample than to stop and check on his condition. ffs One cop even stated, "He's actually turning blue." They killed this man and then willingly made essentially zero effort to resuscitate him. Day 1 shit and they failed at every step to resuscitate his life. Try every one of those buggered nose bullies for murder, including the doc and technician.
Aside from the being ready to fire at someone aspect - someone that un-athletic should not be allowed to work that position.
Almost like a profession where the difference between life and death is one's fitness should hold their professionals to strict fitness standards
Is the idea of picking up and eating marshmallows that have been dropped into the ground to be stepped on by children appealing to anyone?
Yea I am so confused by this. I'm no expert in marshmallow transportation for human consumption but this seems inefficient.
I'm honestly really confused by people pulling over to pick up random people anyhow. Never seen an uber driver do that shit here and I can't imagine why you'd take a chance on that. All that to say its super funny when they get pissed at their bullshit being blown up.
If you can’t report on government activities to the public, then the first amendment doesn’t mean shit.
Full video Article https://kfor.com/news/local/tulsa-p...al-health-crisis-arrest-of-70-year-old-woman/ Main point A woman named LaDonna Paris, 70, was suffering from a mental health crisis with her bipolar disorder and locked herself in the bathroom. The officers were called to a local store in town where they found Paris locked in the bathroom. Employees of the business stated they wanted her gone. At one point, Paris asked to speak with the manager from inside the bathroom. They called the manager, since she was unavailable at the time, and spoke to her over the phone. Paris did not believe it was her and dismissed it. Police also said Paris had an aerosol can and a lighter and was trying to start a fire. After trying to get her to leave, police said they contacted a crisis response team who told them they were busy with another call. In the video, Carrocia can be seen laughing while hitting the door handle with her foot and pushing on the door. She was later arrested and spent a month in jail. After a month, she was released with no charges. Judge dismissed charges due to mental health status.
I feel like the answer is to give them more money with absolutely zero added accountability. That’ll show them.
this is basically the scenario that made me convinced of and be easily able to convince others that ACAB is just a true position
Cop said he pulled him over bc he was speeding but he's not looking to give him a speeding ticket but he's looking for drugs and guns. He literally admitted to coming up with a bullshit reason to pull over someone. And then he asked for license and registration and got all defensive when he started to reach for them.
Washington, D.C. police have had an interesting week: A former (probationary...) officer that totaled two police cruisers last spring while street racing another cop has pleaded guilty to the incident. The punishment...a reckless driving charge and a $350 fine. They were doing 50+ mph in a 20 mph zone The current Vice-Chair of the D.C. Police Union is currently suspended due to an "ongoing investigation" into an incident that occurred within the last week while "not on duty." WTOP originally stated the incident was related to sexual harassment allegations stemming from an incident that took place at a grocery store, but has had to pull that back .
But I was told that only the police could keep us safe and that they must kill anything that even remotely threatens an officer's safety
Ehhh they kill minorities at a much higher rate but let's not give them a pass on killing white folks. They do that a bunch too.
Yea that was my overall point. I have a license for my job. If one state revokes it, other states quickly suspend a person's license and then ask why the other state revoked a license. Typically the person is done bc all the other states revoke the license for what they did in the first state. So one big fuck up and you're out of the industry. And I just talk on a phone all day about mortgages. I don't patrol the streets with a gun. It's insane we allow police unions to bully their way back onto the force after beating a 14 yr old.
It seems like a bunch of Police Departments have decided to be overt propaganda institutions in service of the right wings' worst inclinations
