That includes reducing the amount of gas they flare. At the same time, there is a rush of miners trying to use cheap gas in oil producing fields to fuel their operations. The gas is still burned, releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, but the energy is put to use instead of simply being wasted. Last month, ConocoPhillips statement last spring. The push by crypto miners into North Dakota’s oil fields may only be beginning, said Craig Thorstenson, manager of the permitting program at the state’s Division of Air Quality. He estimated that about 90% of the gas produced in the state makes its way into pipelines to be used at power plants and elsewhere. The rest goes to waste. Danielle Fugere, president of As You Sow, an environmental shareholder-activist group, that said it’s a positive step for Exxon to find a use for gas that would otherwise be burned off into the atmosphere. “It is creating use of what would be otherwise wasted,” she said. I’m an anon on a relatively small message board attempting to get likes/laughs… if my attempts fall flat there are few real world repercussions, nor is 90+% of my net worth tied up in, dependent on, how I represent myself or am perceived on said message board. BAYC is a brand. I am not. If people want to disassociate from me on a small anon message board based on what I post - no big deal. If people disassociate from BAYC based on the users, that’s a problem for holders.

There’s not necessarily a singular motive for what I post. It was cringe funny. But in a market largely fueled by trends, branding, marketing, there’s a genuine element of “how does this affect my investments in this space” to be discussed. My take is the more cringe things that come out of BAYC, the less desirable it is for influencers/tastemakers outside of crypto, which is important for growth of what was once speculative art and are now luxury/status goods. Settle down, it’s not an attack on NFTs. Just this particular brand. I’m anon in relation to someone who is going viral on twitter.

I agree with what he's saying to an extent. Do I want to be in a group/invest in something that is predominately owned by incels and weirdos? No. Not saying that's the case for BAYC or any others as there's always a weirdo or two in every group (even in my small friend circle). These are brands that are based on the group that you're apart of, so they do need to be careful with the branding. That guys tweets were really awkward. It was like she was using him for travel and to buy her things and he fell in love and proposed. She didn't expect or want that. I don't follow BAYC or really much in the crypto arena right now, but if that's a reflection of the users/owners of the NFT, I'd be botherd by it. They're hurting my brand.

His original post was about all of NFTs, not just BAYC. And let's take a closer look at all the influencers and celebs that own bored apes before we keep going down whatever this is becoming. Where does this specifically call out Mutant Ape Yacht Club -- the brand?
I must not have seen or remember him trying to expose you. That's messed up regardless of reason. NFT's are going to be more popular in the future. Even thought this guys Tweet isn't common, it will be weaponized by anti-NFT'ers and make the barrier to mainstream more difficult. I'm all for every part of crypto (except scams) going mainstream.

To the best of my knowledge the wallets they’re buying from aren’t public, the LFG, etc. Consensus seems to believe it makes no logical sense to pre-announce a purchase that will certainly affect price - who stands to benefit? Not the CEO of a stablecoin ho wants to accumulate as much BTC as cheaply as possible to backstop his stable coin. In other words it’s most likely they bought long ago, but are now jawboning their book publicly to drive up the price and further collateralize their stablecoin. Obviously BTC’s price is affected by more factors than Do Kwon/Terra, but seems like a buy the rumor/sell the news event (figuratively speaking, as I don’t really trade my BTC/ETH, just accumulate).
I've seen that they're buying $120-130m per day. I don't think the part about wallets not being public is accurate. I've seen quite a few people tracking their buys on chain. On a podcast or twitter spaces he did, he answered the "why disclose in advance?" question. It was basically that he thought it was the right thing to do to disclose to the community so that they understood the roadmap, etc. So I do think that their current buys are driving price up, and I definitely don't think that they bought long ago and are talking it up now, unless you think he is just flat out lying on the podcasts he's done recently.
