I’ll email to see if she has a general one, she typed it up just with the rides we wanted to do. A quick google search showed this and its got some good info. https://thebudgetmouse.com/disney-genie-plus-lightning-lanes/
Random but feels like a good thread. Where’s some good kids water slides that aren’t big parks? I feel like the only places to just got to some fun are either huge parks or having to stay in a hotel. For example here’s an area t gaylord palms
I’m jealous of south Florida in this regard where normal parks don’t feel like they have to compete with The Parks. CB Smith Park or couple in boca just have fun things like this. In Orlando it’s basically The Parks or resorts. Didn’t know if I was missing any.
Was there last month but the water park wasn’t open yet. They said March so maybe it is now. But there’s a lot to do there. Even though I grew up in the area it wasn’t until I had kids I realized how much there is to do in the area. You can throw a rock in any direction and hit a soccer field (or oddly…a velodrome)
Doing our first trip to Disneyland and have 2 days. Plan is to do each oar one day, unfortunately it's the weekend before July 4th weekend so I'm expecting shit to be crowded. Does it matter which park we do on a given day? Any suggestions on food there?
the pizza at Pinocchio's was probably the best snack food I had at MK. I ordered from the Starlight Cafe the one day and waited a fucking hour for a shitty BBQ chicken sandwich. I was ready to lose my mind. best snack food I had overall was the brisket grilled cheese at Woody's Lunchbox in HS. we mostly ate big meals though so we didn't try a ton of pickup places.
we had a group of 8 people and someone saw me walking with two huge trays of food and flagged me down and asked if I wanted their table. told me I looked "nice". one of the highlights of my week tbh and we paid it forward when we left.
That weekend may not be terrible actually. DL usually busier than CA. I would pick whatever day you think will be busier and do CA that day. I would choose CA Saturday and DL Sunday. I would also advise park hoppers if you can manage it though. More to do in DL than CA, especially if you have kids under 40”. Also, only CA serves alcohol so that allows you the chance to buy overpriced beers both days instead of just 1.
All of Disneyland is under construction and looks like it will be for a long time even pirates is under construction
Gideon’s Disney springs is a 4 our wait just for the virtual queue. THEN you get in the physical line.
it's a weekend that's pretty standard if you dont get there a little before opening also, dont you live here? just go over to east end
That’s still crazy for a cookie place. And yeah I was at DS to take son to Lego store but just wanted to check out gideons since I was there. I had zero idea it was that big of a deal there
It's really not that big of a deal imo. Get in line when you get in, then the physical line is only about 20 minutes once you enter. It's a pretty well run place
Does that store have exclusive sets? I didn’t realize there would be a wait when we were there so we didn’t get to go in. Was bummed we missed it.
No idea. My son just wanted Minecraft sets and I wanted to take him to the cool Lego store because I knew he’d think it’s cool. The line was only maybe 10 minutes and once you’re inside it’s really well managed. I was thankful for the limited capacity to be honest. they do have a ton of amazing sets though and probably not many physical places to get their high end stuff and to see it first. But speaking of 4 hour waits… the whole mini figure factory thing was actually a 4 hour wait.
Going to DL last second this weekend with a few other people surprised they still had park reservations
well it's a 4 year old picture and the only recent post about it is from this article https://www.redvoicemedia.com/2022/...innie-penis-gift-cards-the-bigger-the-better/ soooooooo
Disney Parks apparently pulled the Happily Ever After fireworks show from Youtube. Color me disappointed. I enjoyed getting hammered and watching that on occasion.
The fireworks shows on YT helped my wife get through Covid. She would watch them at least once a month.
So in my short research it appears a lot of Disney goers aren’t impressed with this LL and genie+ system
The big issue is that all it takes is a ride breaking down for an hour or so and it completely destroys the benefit of paying for LL or Genie+. EX. If you pay $15 a person for RoR at 1:30. But it breaks down at 10:30 and comes back online at 12:30. Everyone that was in line at 10:30 is given a LL return time for the ride which then turns the LL line into an hour+ line. So the person who just paid $60 for their family of 4 is still waiting 60 min+ to ride RoR. It's a broken system.
And my coworker who just came back from DL said you pay an additional fee if the time you want is during busy parts of the day?
Haven't been to Disney in years and never been to Disney Land, just Disney World. My wife may have to travel for work next week to the conference center across the street from Disney Land in Anaheim. I'd get a free hotel (paid by her work), she would fly free and we have a flight voucher so I could fly free. We have an 18 month old so I was thinking of maybe joining her and having a relatively cheap vacation and run him over to Disney one or two days if I do. Is there things for someone that young to do, and which park would be best to take him? Thanks
