Braves fans going from MVFree to Fraudie and saying Olson is the best 1b in baseball has been my favorite part of the offseason.
it’s complicated, but grew up in NJ and while I wasn’t a Mets or NYY fan, I was a mattingly fan and the recent doc hit home. Could’ve used more rizzuto
Really can't wait to do some pushups while watching Ohtani vs the Astros tomorrow night Got some Motor Breath testing at 33%
well they won a title so pretty sure I view them above your half-vaxxed team that hasn’t sniffed a title in years
I make arguments like dbl but my attention span on committing to them is like 30 minutes while dbl’s is a solid week
At least you'll have this to entertain you while the Yankees finish 3rd in the east this year. Maybe you can switch to being a dodgers fan?
Every time I see a still photo of a pitcher in this moment, I shake my head and wonder how they do it. Of course, many pay the price eventually but if I tried to put my arm in that position with all my force, I'm toast. Professional athletes are a different breed.
I really hope the Guardians remind us what a pitching factory Cleveland has been in recent years. Bieber sounds healthy, Civale as well. What Triston McKenzie showed last August had me drooling also, Buxton for President
Now that they paid Ramirez they’ll definitely trade Bieber in the next year or so can’t pay two players because cleveland
I think baseball needs Cleveland to suck so they maybe stop being so damn cheap. They're so good at developing pitchers that they don't think they need to spend any money to be at least decent. That owner sucks and has ruined what was one of the best markets in the sport 20 years ago.
what's the appropriate level of emotion to show when a teammate gets HBP? also anyone know the O/U on Aaron Hicks games played in 2022?
It sounds absurd now, but there was a time when I was a kid when it was so hard to get tickets to games in Cleveland that their fans would take over home games in Detroit because it was the only way they could see their team play live. That stadium was the hottest ticket in the league for a while there. Within a couple years after Dolan bought them attendance fell off by 50% and has never recovered. Even when they went to the WS in 16 they averaged under 20k per game.
Cool? Yankees were one of the first to 85%. Seems like some of our highest profile guys are idiots though.
I'll be surprised if he plays 30. Not sure why we're even trying it. Just play Judge, Gallo, and Stanton out there. It's not like Hicks is some great defender.
Yet you were a huge Freddie fan. It's cool, just admit your opinion on him changed bc his unform changed.
I'm ready to care about whether my team wins or loses for the first time in five years, which means I'm realizing as I type this that I probably haven't properly prepared myself for the Javy Baez experience.
So there is a new rule rookies wouldn't lose service time if they win some sort of award like rookie of the year if brought up later in the year. Prevents team bringing guys up later in the year to manipulate service time and explains why some rookies made mlb rosters out of spring training this year. Nice rule change.
No expectations for the Yankees. If healthy, they can win 100+ and who knows once the playoffs start. But at this point its safe to say this bunch won't stay healthy so high 80s to low 90s and a WC are more likely.
This is sports. I loved Fred. Now he's with the enemy, so I love him less. I will not participate in calling him Frauddie though. I just go with traitor.
